In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding generates a zigzag chain along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(32)H(23)ClN(2)O(4), has a quinoline, a chloro-phenyl and an acenaphthalene ring system attached to a central pyrrolidine ring, which has three stereogenic centers. Nevertheless, the compound crystallizes as a racemate with two mol-ecules of identical chirality in the asymmetric unit. They differ in the conformation of the five-membered pyrrolidine ring; in one molecule it has an envelope conformation, while in the other molecule it has a twisted conformation. In each molecule there is an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond making an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds produce inversion dimers with R(2) (2)(8) motifs. There are also C-H⋯O interactions present. The crystal structure contains voids (60 Å(3)) within which there is no evidence of solvent mol-ecules.

The dihedral angles between the two pyran-one rings in the independent mol-ecules are 59.42 (8), 48.67 (8), 60.62 (9) and 51.60 (8)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, C20H17NO5, the dihedral angle between the mean plane of the di-hydro-quinoline ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.003 Å) and the benzene ring is 1.83 (11)°. The almost planar conformation is a consequence of an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and the E configuration about the central C=C bond. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate chains of mol-ecules along the [10-1] direction. These chains are linked via π-π inter-actions [inter-centroid distances are in the range 3.6410 (16)-3.8663 (17) Å].

Project description:In the title coumarin derivative, C12H10O5, the fused ring system is almost planar (r.m.s deviation = 0.016 Å). The Car-C-C=O torsion angle of the side chain is -8.4 (2)° In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating C(8) chains propagating in the [100] direction. The chains are cross-linked by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, thereby generating undulating (001) sheets.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H12ClNO3. The mean planes of the methyl ester unit (Cmeth-yl-O-C=O; r.m.s. deviation = 0.051 Å for mol-ecule A and 0.016 Å for mol-ecule B) and the chloro-quilonine ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.023 Å for mol-ecule A and 0.014 Å for mol-ecule B) form dihedral angles of 63.5 (1)° in mol-ecule A and 78.1 (1)° in mol-ecule B. The main difference between the two independent mol-ecules is reflected in the (H)O-C-C=C(H2) torsion angle which is -109.7 (2)° in mol-ecule A and 10.6 (2)° in mol-ecule B. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed in mol-ecule A. In the crystal, mol-ecules A and B are linked into pairs via bifurcated O-H⋯(N,Cl) hydrogen bonds and a weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bond links pairs of mol-ecules into chains along [100].

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(15)H(13)NO(2), in both the six-membered dihydro-pyridine rings adopt a half-chair conformation. The two benzene rings make dihedral angles of 43.66 (10) and 62.22 (10)° in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, the two independent mol-ecules are linked alternately by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a zigzag chain along the c axis. Furthermore, inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions link the chains into a three-dimensional network.

In the crystal, the ion pairs and their inversion-symmetry-related partners are linked by N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to form tetramers which are further connected through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, building infinite one-dimensional chains parallel to the [010] direction.
