ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Fe(C(13)H(12)NO(2))Cl(2)(C(5)H(5)N)]·C(5)H(5)N, the iron(III) atom is six-coordinated by the N and O atoms from the Schiff base ligand, the N atom from a pyridine mol-ecule and two chloride anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions.

The slightly distorted square-planar coordination sphere of the Cu(II) atom comprises two phenolate O atoms and two oxime N atoms from two bidentate-chelate 2-[1-(eth-oxy-imino)-eth-yl]-1-naphtho-late O-ethyl oxime (L(-)) ligands [Cu-O = 1.8919?(17)?Å and Cu-N = 1.988?(2)?Å]. Intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds between the hy-droxy O atoms and the imine N atoms, with O?N distances in the range 2.607?(3)-2.665?(3)?Å, form nearly planar six-membered rings. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds occur and several intra- and inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions are present between adjacent benzene rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.507?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(20)N(2)O(3), the amino N atom is in a planar environment (sum of angles = 360.0°). All hy-droxy H atoms are involved in hydrogen bonding. In the crystal structure, two O-H?O and an O-H?N(imino) hydrogen bond result in the formation of a three-dimensional network. The latter hydrogen bonding causes distortion of the planarity of the 4-HO-C(6)H(4)-CH=N-C(6)H(4)- fragment by rotation around the =N-C(Ph) bond. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin [refined BASF parameter for the major component = 0.5293?(7)].

Project description:The title compound, 2C(21)H(19)N(3)O(2)·H(2)O, was synthesized by a Schiff base condensation of 2,6-diformyl-pyridine with 2-amino-4-methyl-phenol in ethanol. In the crystal, two mol-ecules of 2,6-bis-[(2-hy-droxy-5-methyl-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]pyridine dimer-ize via hydrogen bonding to a water mol-ecule, which lies on a twofold axis. There are also intra-molecular phenol-imine hydrogen bonds. The dimers are further linked via π-π (phen-yl-pyridine) [centroid-centroid distance = 3.707 (2) Å] and π-π edge-to-edge [3.392 (2) Å] inter-actions. The dihedral angles between the central ring and the two pendant rings are 11.46 (8) and 2.06 (8)° while the pendant rings make a dihedral angle of 10.14 (8)°.

Project description:In the title Schiff base, C14H13NO4, which adopts the phenol-imine tautomeric form, the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene and heterocyclic (r.m.s. deviation = 0.037 Å) rings is 53.31 (11)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond closes an S(6) ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate C(11) chains propagating in the [010] direction. A weak C-H⋯O link is also observed, leading to the formation of R (5) 5(32) rings extending parallel to the (101) plane.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title ethanol solvate, C(15)H(21)N(3)O(6)·C(2)H(6)O, adopts a curved shape; the conformation about the imine bond [N=N = 1.287 (3) Å] is E. The amide residues occupy positions almost orthogonal to each other [dihedral angle = 85.7 (2)°]. In the crystal, a network of O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds leads to the formation of supra-molecular arrays in the ab plane with the ethanol mol-ecules lying to the periphery on either side. Disorder in the solvent ethanol mol-ecule was evident with two positions being resolved for the C atoms [site occupancy of the major component = 0.612 (10)].
