Catena-Poly[[triaqua-chlorido-?(3)-malonato-cerium(III)] hemihydrate].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Ce(C(3)H(2)O(4))Cl(H(2)O)(3)]·0.5H(2)O}(n), contains a Ce(3+) atom coordinated by a chloride anion, three water mol-ecules and a malonate ligand, and one water mol-ecule of crystallization with a factor of occupancy of 50%. The malonate ligand is bonded to three different symmetry-related metal atoms yielding a one-dimensional coordination polymer running parallel to the a axis. A supra-molecular network composed of strong and highly directional O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds ensures a close and effective packing of adjacent polymeric chains.

Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.

Project description:In the title compound, {(C(10)H(12)N(3)O(3)S)(2)[CdCl(4)]·H(2)O}(n), the Cd(II) atom is five-coordinate with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry formed by chloride ions. The Cd atom and two of the Cl atoms lie on a mirror plane. The cation is protonated on the amino group N atom; it is not coordinated to cadmium, but is hydrogen bonded to the chlorido ligands. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound {(C6H18N2)2[Sb2Br10]·H2O} n , consists of two tetra-methyl-ethylendi-ammonium cations that are located on centres of inversion, as well as one tetra-methyl-ethylendi-ammonium cation, one water mol-ecule, one distorted octahedral [SbBr6](3-)anion and one bisphenoidal [SbBr4](-) anion in general positions. The [SbBr6](3-) and [SbBr4](-) anions are linked together by two long Sb-Br bonds of 3.2709 (8) and 3.5447 (7) Å into {[Sb2Br10](4-)} n chains along [001]. One of the three tetra-methyl-ethylendi-ammonium cations is disordered and was refined using a split model (occupancy ratio 0.58:0.42). The cations and the water mol-ecule are connected to the {[Sb2Br10](4-)} n polymeric anions by weak N-H ⋯Br and O(water)-H ⋯Br hydrogen bonding.

The ligand L is tridentate, with one N atom of the pyrazine ring and one O atom of one carboxyl-ate group forming a chelate ring, whereas one O atom from the second carboxyl-ate group is coordinated to another Cu atom. The ligand L links mol-ecules to form an infinite chain parallel to the [101] direction. The chains are further linked through O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules to build up a three-dimensional network.
