Sanguibacter keddieii is the type species of the genus Sanguibacter, the only genus within the family of Sanguibacteraceae. Phylogenetically, this family is located in the neighborhood of the genus Oerskovia and the family Cellulomonadaceae within the actinobacterial suborder Micrococcineae.
