ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(14)H(15)NO(3), the ester group is oriented so that the carbonyl group points in the opposite direction to the hy-droxy group. The mol-ecule as a whole is almost planar (the r.m.s. deviation of the non-H atoms is 0.0268?Å). In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds into infinite chains that propagate parallel to the c axis.

In the crystal, a single N-H?O hydrogen bond links the cations and anions into discrete pairs and the aromatic anions stack along the crystallographic a-axis direction. This results in layers of cations and anions alternating along the crystallographic c-axis direction. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond is also present.
