ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecule, C(24)H(14)N(2), the exterior C-C-C angle of the naphthalene ring system involving the two phenyl-substituted C atoms is 126.06?(11)° and the dihedral angles between the mean plane of the naphthalene ring system and those of the benzene rings are 66.63?(5) and 67.89?(5)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a ladders by four weak C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the solid state, the title compound, C(22)H(10)N(2)S, forms centrosymmetric dimers by pairs of non-classical C-H?S hydrogen bonds linking approximately coplanar mol-ecules. The benzene ring involved in this inter-action makes a dihedral angle of only 7.21?(16)° with the thio-phene ring, while the other benzene ring is twisted somewhat out of the plane, with a dihedral angle of 39.58?(9)°. The hydrogen-bonded dimers stack on top of each other with an inter-planar spacing of 3.44?Å. C-H?N hydrogen bonds link together stacks that run in approximately perpendicular directions. Each mol-ecule thus inter-acts with 12 adjacent mol-ecules, five of them approaching closer than the sum of the van der Waals radii for the relevant atoms. Optimization of the inter-stack contacts contributes to the non-planarity of the mol-ecule.

Project description:The title compound, C(26)H(18)F(2)O(4), is a naphthalene derivative in which the two aroyl groups at the 1- and 8-positions (peri positions) are anti to each other. There is an appreciable difference in the dihedral angles between the naphthalene ring system and the two benzene rings [66.88?(7)° and 88.09?(6)°]. In the crystal, weak C-H?O inter-actions involving one of the carbonyl groups and an aromatic C-H group ortho to the F atom seem to stabilize the packing of the mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title adduct, C15H10N4·2C10H10N2, the pyrimidine ring is nearly co-planar with the heteroatomic perimidine ring, as indicated dihedral angle between their mean planes of 3.21?(11)°. The di-aminona-phthalene mol-ecules are slightly twisted [dihedral angles = 4.2?(2) and 3.0?(2)°] because of the steric encumbrance of NH2 groups. The perimidine and di-aminona-phthalene mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming an R (4) 4(12) graph-set motif across an inversion center. In the crystal, alternating layers of the perimidine and di-aminona-phthalene mol-ecules are formed along [100]. In the perimidine layer, mol-ecules are ?-? stacked along the c-axis direction with an inter-plane separation of approximately 3.4?Å.

Project description:The title salt, C8H22N22+·C14H8N2O42-·H2O, represents a pseudo-polymer ionic material, resulting from the self-organizing behavior of 4,4'-azinodibenzoate dianions and doubly protonated, 1,8-diaminium-octane cations in aqueous solution. The asymmetric unit consists of two halves of octane 1,8-diaminium cations (the complete cations are both generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry), a 4,4'-azinodibenzoate anion [dihedral angle between the aromatic rings = 10.22?(4)°] and a water mol-ecule of crystallization. One of the cations is in a fully extended linear conformation while the second one has a terminal C-C-C-N gauche conformation. In the crystal, the cations, anions and water mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network via a complex pattern of charge-assisted N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5846 (9) Å].
