Butyl-trichlorido{2-[(diisopropyl-ammonio)-meth-yl]phen-yl}tin(IV) dichloro-methane monosolvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Sn(C(4)H(9))(C(13)H(21)N)Cl(3)]·CH(2)Cl(2), was obtained by recrystallization of [2-(diisopropyl-amino-meth-yl)phen-yl]tin(IV) butyl dichloride from a CH(2)Cl(2)/n-hexane mixture (1:4 v/v) in the presence of ambient moisture. Partial hydrolysis led to the title compound, the hydro-chloric acid adduct of the dichloride, having a penta-coordinated Sn atom with a trigonal-bipyramidal C(2)SnCl(3) core. The N atom of the 2-[(diisopropyl-ammonio)-meth-yl]phenyl ligand forms a strong intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bond, resulting in a zwitterionic species, [2-((i)Pr(2)HN(+)CH(2))C(6)H(4)]SnBuCl(3) (-)·CH(2)Cl(2). Disorder was found in the n-butyl group, which was refined as disordered over three positions, with site occupancies of 0.22?(1), 0.51?(1) and 0.27?(2).

Two Cl atoms adopt a trans arrangement to the two pyridyl N atoms, while the third Cl atom and the O atoms occupy the axial site. The Rh-Cl bonds that are trans to the pyridyl N atoms are slightly longer than the Rh-Cl bond distance trans to the O atom.

Project description:The title compound, C(27)H(39)N(2) (+)·C(24)H(20)B(-)·2CH(2)Cl(2), is the first reported imidazolidinium cation with the sterically demanding 2,6-diisopropyl-phenyl groups in the 1,3-positions. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H??(arene) inter-actions. Due to the bulky nature of both the flanking 2,6-diisopropyl-phenyl substituents and the tetra-phenyl-borate counter-ion, anion inter-actions with the imidazolidinium H atom in the 2-position are not observed, also a first for this class of ortho-alkyl-substituted Arduengo-type carbene precursors.

Project description:The title compound, [Pd(C26H45S4)Cl]·CH2Cl2, crystallizes with a disordered dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule [occupancy ratio = 0.67?(4):0.33?(4)]. Two of the tert-butyl groups are also disordered [occupancy ratios = 0.70?(5):0.30?(5) and 0.63?(4):0.37?(4)]. Although the pincer ligand offers the possibility for coordination of two different metal atoms, the present structure shows only the coordination of a single Pd(II) atom in a typical S-C-S tridentate pincer manner. The Pd(II) atom is in a slightly distorted square-planar environment with the two tert-butyl-sulfanyl groups arranged in a trans con-formation and with a chloride ligand trans to the ?-bonded aromatic C atom. The structure exhibits a durene-like ligand frame, forming a dihedral angle of 13.6?(4)° with the metal coordination (Pd/S/S/Cl/C) environment. It is noteworthy that the tert-butyl groups are found in a syn arrangement, this being different to that found previously by Loeb, Shimizu & Wisner [(1998). Organometallics, 17, 2324-2327].

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(28)H(40)N(2)O(2), the tert-butyl group is disordered over two positions; site-occupation factors were kept fixed at 0.5. The morpholine ring has a chair conformation. Intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a planar six-membered ring, which is oriented at a dihedral angle of 0.70 (3)° with respect to the adjacent aromatic ring. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 67.66 (3)°.

In the crystal, one O atom of the central ethyl-ene glycol in the triethyl-ene glycol unit exhibits an exo conformation as a result of intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The crown unit and the solvent mol-ecule are linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds.
