ABSTRACT: The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(14)H(11)N(3)O(5), assumes an E configuration with respect to the methyl-idene unit. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond is present in the mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the two benzene rings is 5.46?(15)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N, and N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(11)N(3)O(5), crystallized with two independent mol-ecules per asymmetric unit. Each mol-ecule assumes an E configuration with respect to the methyl-idene unit. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present in each mol-ecule and they are linked by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the two benzene rings are 4.45 (16) and 1.7 (2)° in the two mol-ecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(14)H(11)N(3)O(4), is approximately planar, with an inter-planar angle between the two benzene rings of 5.8?(2)°. In the crystal, four mol-ecules are linked by an R(4) (4)(12) motif with pairs of strong O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds. The motif is situated about the crystallographic centres of symmetry and it is composed of two pairs of parallel mol-ecules. This quadruplet of mol-ecules is further extended by symmetry-equivalent hydrogen bonds to form layers parallel to the (10) plane. In addition to the hydrogen bonds, there is also a weak ?-? inter-action between the benzene rings.
