ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Co(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the two Co(II) cations are bridged by pairs of pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions across an inversion center. Besides two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine and one water mol-ecule coordinate to the Co cation, completing a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Within the dinuclear mol-ecule, ?-? stacking occurs between parallel pyridine rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.802?(2)?Å. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions.

The bridging ligands generate an 18-membered ring, which is stabilized by two pairs of intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, obtained from a basic solution of 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxyl-ate and nickel(II) chloride in water, the central Ni(II) cation (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by two N atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and four aqua O atoms. The N-Ni-N angle is 78.64?(8)°. Weak but significant ?-? stacking inter-actions exist between the pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.652?(8)?Å. In addition, four O atoms of the two carboxyl groups form hydrogen bonds with both coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules, forming an infinite three-dimensional network.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, {(C(4)H(12)N(2))[Zn(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the reaction of zinc(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with the proton-transfer compound (pipzH(2))(py-2,5-dc) (where pipz is piperazine and py-2,5-dcH(2) is pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid) in aqueous solution. Each Zn(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four O atoms and two N atoms from one water mol-ecule and two (py-2,5-dc)(2-) ligands, which also act as bridging ligands between Zn(II) atoms. π-π Stacking inter-actions between two aromatic rings of (py-2,5-dc)(2-) fragments, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.4747 (7) and 3.7081 (7) Å are observed. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(12)H(6)O(4))(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (naph) dianions, two imidazole mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu-O bond distance in the apical direction is 0.509 (3) Å longer than the mean Cu-O bond distance in the basal plane. The naph dianion bridges two Cu(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The coordinated water mol-ecule is hydrogen-bonded to the carboxylate groups and imidazole ligands of adjacent polymeric chains, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. No π-π stacking is observed in the crystal structure. One solvent water molecule is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The title mixed aqua-fluoride complex, [CrF(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))(2)·2H(2)O, has been synthesized by aqua-tion of the corresponding difluoride complex using lanthan-ide(III) ions as F(-) acceptors. The complex crystallizes with a Cr(III) ion at the center of a distorted octa-hedral coordination polyhedron with a cis arrangement of ligands. The crystal packing shows a hydrogen-bonding pattern involving water mol-ecules, the coordinated F atom and the perchlorate anions.

Another carboxyl-ate O atom from an adjacent complex is located in the opposite apical direction, with a Cu⋯O distance of 2.706 (3) Å, and is not considered as a bridging atom. Project description:In the title hydrated coordination polymer, {[Zn(C6H2O5)(C10H8N2)(H2O)]·2H2O} n , an infinite [1-10] chain is formed by the linking of [Zn(C10H8N2)(H2O)](2+) entities by bridging, monodentate furan-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate dianionic linkers. The Zn(2+) coordination geometry is a trigonal bipyramid, with one N atom (from 2,2'-bipyridine) and one O atom (from the bridging dianion) in the axial positions. For each Zn(II) atom, the dihedral angle between the furan ring of its coordinated bridging ligand and its coordinated bipyridine ring system is 87.19?(8)°. Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, [Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)][Mn(2)(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, consists of mononuclear manganese(II) cations, dinuclear manganate(II) dianions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The dianion is located about an inversion center; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, a sulfonatoisophthalate group, a water mol-ecule along with two bridging water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and a chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A partially overlapped arrangement between the bipyridine ligands and the aromatic ring of the sulfoisophthalate group of adjacent anions is observed; the distance (3.357 Å) indicates π-π stacking. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecules serving as hydrogen-bond donors, lead to a three-dimensional network architecture.

Project description:In the title compound, K[Co(CO(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Co(III) atom is coordinated by two bipyridine N atoms and four O atoms from two bidentate chelating carbonate anions, and thus adopts a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment. The [Co(bipy)(CO(3))(2)](-) (bipy is 2,2'-bipyridine) -units are stacked along [100] via π-π stacking inter-actions, with inter-planar distances between the bipyridine rings of 3.36 (4) and 3.44 (6) Å, forming chains. Classical O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the chains, forming channels along (100) in which the K(+) ions reside and leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.
