ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(21)H(21)NO(6)S(2), is organized around a twofold axis parallel to the crystallographic c axis and containing the N atom and a C atom of the pyridine ring. The tosyl moiety and the pyridine ring are both essentially planar [maximum deviations 0.028?(2) and 0.020?(3)?Å, respectively]; their mean planes form a dihedral angle of 33.0?(2)°.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C7H7Br2N, the C-Br vectors of the bromo-methyl groups extend to opposite sides of the pyridine ring and are oriented nearly perpendicular to its plane. In the crystal, the mol-ecules related by a c-glide-plane operation are arranged into stacks along the c axis, with centroid-centroid distances between neighboring aromatic rings of 3.778?(2)?Å. A short Br?Br contact of 3.6025?(11)?Å is observed within a pair of inversion-related mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(20)O(5)S, is an inter-mediate in the synthesis of a new type of poly(amido-amine) (PAMAM) dendrimer. The cyclo-hexane ring exhibits a chair conformation, with C-C bond lengths in the range 1.518 (3)-1.531 (3) Å and C-C-C angles in the range 110.45 (19)-112.09 (19)°; these agree well with the values in other cyclo-hexane derivatives described in the literature. In the crystal structure, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯·O hydrogen bonds. The H atoms of the methyl group are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The title compound, C(29)H(35)N(3), is the product of the condensation reaction between 2,6-diacetyl-pyridine and 2,6-diethyl-aniline. In the mol-ecule, the pyridyl ring is coplanar with the imino functional groups [torsion angles in the range 177.1 (2)-179.9 (2)°. The two 2,6-diethyl-substituted benzene rings are approximately perpendicular to the ethyl-idenepyridine central core, the dihedral angles being 88.7 (1) and 88.4 (1)°, respectively.

The inter-planar angles between the central pyridyl ring and the phenyl and the methyl-phenyl rings are 32.8 (2) and 23.7 (2)°, respectively. In the crystal packing, the central pyridyl rings of adjacent mol-ecules are involved in π-π inter-actions, forming one-dimensional arrays along the c axis with centroid-centroid distances of 3.714 (1) Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(25)N(5), is an aminalization product between 2,6-diacetyl-pyridine and 1,3-diamino-propane. It crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit with different conformations. In the first mol-ecule, the methyl groups are cis oriented with respect to the pyridine ring [N-C-C-C torsion angles = 72.5?(1) and 80.3?(1)°], while they are trans oriented in the second mol-ecule [N-C-C-C torsion angles = 82.6?(1) and -90.8?(1)°]. Each of the two mol-ecules forms centrosymmetric dimers held together by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, thus forming R(2) (2)(16) rings. The two dimers are inter-linked by additional N-H?N bonds into R(4) (4)(14) rings, building chains along the a axis. These patterns influence the orientation (either equatorial or axial) of the N-H bonds.
