ABSTRACT: The Sn(IV) atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(2)Cl(2)(C(13)H(12)OS)], displays a distorted C(2)Cl(2)O trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment, with a mean Sn-C distance of 2.121?(9)?Å and with Sn-O = 2.331?(2)?Å. The Sn(IV) atom is displaced by 0.169?(2)?Å from the equatorial C(2)Cl plane towards the direction of the second axially bonded Cl atom.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear title mol-ecule, [Sn(4)(C(6)H(5))(8)Cl(2)O(2)(OH)(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS, the two independent tin(IV) atoms show distorted trigonal-bipyramidal SnC(2)O(3) and SnC(2)O(2)Cl coordination geometries. The four tin(IV) atoms are bridged by the hydroxo and oxo ligands, forming a ladder-like array of three edge-connected Sn(2)O(2) squares. The solvent mol-ecules are linked to the tetra-nuclear mol-ecule via O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Monoclinic polymorph of chlorido-(dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)tri-phenyl-tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title tin complex, [Sn(C6H5)3Cl(C2H6OS)], (I), has been reported with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit in an ortho-rhom-bic cell [Kumar et al. (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. E65, m1602-m1603]. While using SnPh3Cl as a starting material for a reaction for which the products were recrystallized over a very long time (six months) from dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a new polymorph was obtained for (I), with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of a monoclinic cell. The coordination geometry of the Sn centres remains unchanged, with the Cl- ion and the DMSO mol-ecule in the apical positions and the phenyl C atoms in the equatorial positions of a trigonal bipyramid. The main difference between the polymorphs is the relative orientation of the phenyl rings in the equatorial plane, reflecting a degree of free rotation of these groups about their Sn-C bonds. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into [010] chains mediated by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The six-coordinate Sn(IV) atom in the title compound, [SnCl(4)(C(14)H(14)OS)(2)], exists in a cis-SnCl(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. Of the four Cl atoms, two are close to adjacent S atoms [Cl?S = 3.320?(1) and 3.376?(1)?Å]; the Sn-Cl bonds involving these two Cl atoms are longer than the other two Sn-Cl bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(C(2)H(6)OS)], the Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by three phenyl groups, a chloride ion and a dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.934 (3) Å. An intra-molecular C-H⋯π inter-action is also observed.

Crystal structure of ?-oxalato-?2O1:O2-bis-[(dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)tri-phenyl-tin(IV)].

Project description:In the previously reported [C2O4(SnPh3)2] complex [Diop et al. (2003 ?). Appl. Organomet. Chem.17, 881-882.], the SnIV atoms are able to formally complete their coordination by addition of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) mol-ecules provided by the reaction medium, affording the title complex, [Sn2(C6H5)6(C2O4)(C2H6OS)2]. The SnIV atoms are then penta-coordinated, with a common trans trigonal-bipyramidal arrangement. The asymmetric unit contains one half-mol-ecule, which is completed by inversion symmetry in space group type C2/c. The inversion centre is placed at the mid-point of the central bis-monodentate oxalate dianion, C2O42-, which bridges the [(SnPh3)(DMSO)] moieties. The mol-ecule crystallizes as a disordered system, with two phenyl rings disordered by rotation about their Sn-C bonds, while the DMSO mol-ecule is split over two positions due to a tetra-hedral inversion at the S atom. All disordered parts were refined with occupancies fixed of 0.5.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(C(9)H(6)NO)(2)Cl], the Sn(IV) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by the O and N atoms of two bis-chelating quinolin-8-olate ligands, a Cl atom and a C atom from a benzyl ligand. The axial sites are occupied by an N atom of a quinolinate ligand and the C atom of the benzyl ligand. The axial Sn-N bond is slightly shorter than the equatorial Sn-N bond.

Project description:The SnIV atom in the title diorganotin compound, [Sn(C7H6F)2Cl2(C2H6OS)2], is located on a centre of inversion, resulting in the C2Cl2O2 donor set having an all-trans disposition of like atoms. The coordination geometry approximates an octa-hedron. The crystal features C-H?F, C-H?Cl and C-H?? inter-actions, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. The respective influences of the Cl?H/H?Cl and F?H/H?F contacts to the mol-ecular packing are clearly evident from the analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.
