Trans-Diaqua-bis-(cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine)-zinc(II) dichloride.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(14)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2), the Zn(II) atom resides on a special position with site symmetry 2/m and is octa-hedrally coordinated by four N atoms from two trans 1,2-diamino-cyclo-hexane ligands and two water O atoms. In the crystal, N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

The configuration of the two ferrocence nuclei may be due to intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonding involving the two NH groups.

The uncoordinated solvent methanol mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to an O atom of a perchlorate anion. One of the perchlorate anions is disordered over two sets of sites with occupancy factors of 0.539?(14) and 0.461?(14). N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, as well as ?-? stacking inter-actions between the imidazol rings and between the imidazol and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.714?(2) and 3.705?(2)?Å] give rise to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd₂I₄(C₆H₁₄N₂)₂](n), there are two independent Cd(II) ions. One Cd(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment by four N atoms from two cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine ligands and two iodido ligands. The other Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four iodido ligands in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. Two of the iodido ligands act as bridging ligands connecting Cd(II) ions and forming a one-dimensional polymer along [010]. In the crystal, N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds connect the one-dimensional structure into a two-dimensional framework parallel to (001).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(C(16)H(20)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2)·C(3)H(7)NO, consists of two Ni(II) atoms, each lying on an inversion center, two Cl anions, two N,N'-dibenzyl-ethane-1,2-diamine ligands, two coordinated water mol-ecules and one N,N-dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule. Each Ni(II) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, with the equatorial plane formed by four N atoms and the axial positions occupied by two water mol-ecules. The complex mol-ecules are linked into a chain along [001] by N-H?Cl, N-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The C atoms and H atoms of the solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sites in a ratio of 0.52?(2):0.48?(2).

Redetermination of trans-cyclo-hexane-1,4-diammonium dichloride.

Project description:A redetermination of the crystal structure of the title compound, C(6)H(16)N(2) (2+)·2Cl(-), was undertaken. All atomic coordinates including those of the H atoms were refined freely. The cation is located on a centre of symmetry. Important for the crystal structure are wavy hydrogen-bonded layers that are formed by ammonium groups and chloride anions, giving hydrogen-bonded rings.

Owing to its stereochemistry, it is used in the synthesis of chiral ligands and metal complexes for asymmetric synthesis. The cyclo-hexane ring shows a chair conformation with the amino groups in equatorial positions. Contrary to the literature, the title compound is not a liquid, but a crystalline solid at room temperature (293 K). The absolute configuration is assigned from the synthesis.
