Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title hydrated salt, 2C6H6N3 (+)·SO4 (2-)·2H2O, there are two independent sulfate ions, one lying on a twofold axis, and the other in a general position. There are three independent benzotriazolium cations and three independent water mol-ecules. The sulfate ion in a general position forms hydrogen-bonded chains of stoichiometry SO4 (2-)·3H2O in the b-axis direction. The sulfate on the twofold axis is unhydrated and accepts hydrogen bonds from four surrounding benzotriazoles. The benzotriazolium cations form two types of stacks along b. One stack contains only one type of independent cation, related by inversion centers. The other stack contains two alternating independent cations and no symmetry. The two types of stacks have orientations which are rotated by about 79° in the ac plane. 12 symmetrically distinct hydrogen bonds of type N-H⋯O(sulfate), N-H⋯O(water), O-H⋯O(sulfate) and O-H⋯O(water), with donor-acceptor distances in the range 2.5490 (13)-2.7871 (12) Å, form a three-dimensional array.

Project description:The title compound {systematic name: 3-chloro-5-[3-(dimethyl-amino)prop-yl]-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenz[b,f]azepinium picrate}, C(19)H(24)ClN(2) (+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-), crystallizes with two independent cation-anion pairs in the asymmetric unit. The chlorimipraminium cation contains two benzene rings (one with a chloro substituent) fused to a V-shaped seven-membered azepine ring whose mean planes are separated by 61.1?(0) and 66.5?(8)° with a 3-(dimethyl-amino)propyl group extending away from the apex of this ring. In the picrate anion, the mean planes of the two o-NO(2) groups in each anion are twisted by 3.7?(2)/31.9?(3) and 31.3?(1)/11.4?(0)°, respectively, with respect to the mean plane of the six-membered benzene ring. The phenolate O atoms are bent slightly away from the mean plane of the benzene ring. The mean planes of the p-NO(2) groups are twisted by 6.6?(1) and 2.88°, respectively, from the mean plane of the benzene ring. The crystal packing features bifurcated N-H?(O,O) inter-molecular hydrogen-bond inter-action, which connects each cation-anion pair. Additional ?-? ring and C-H?? weak inter-molecular inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: 4-(2,2-diphenyl-2-prop-oxyacet-oxy)-1-methyl-piperidin-1-ium picrate], C(23)H(30)NO(3) (+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-), crystallizes as a salt with one cation-anion (propiverinium picrate) pair in the asymmetric unit. A significant number of conformational changes are observed between the crystalline environment of this cation-anion salt and that of a density functional theory (DFT) calculation of the geometry-optimized structure. The angle between the dihedral planes of the two benzyl rings in the propiverinium cation increases by 14.4?(0)° from that of the crystalline environment. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of each of the benzyl rings and the mean plane of the piperidine increase by 2.0?(8) and 12.3?(5)°. The angles between the mean plane of the acetate group and the mean planes of the inter-connected piperidine group and the two benzyl rings decrease by 0.2?(1), 7.4?(6) and 3.2?(2)°, respectively. The mean plane of the phenolate group in the anion changes by +22.6?(9), +22.1?(1) and -2.8?(6)° from the mean planes of the piperidine and benzyl rings in the cation, respectively. In the crystal, a bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bond and a weak C-H?? ring inter-action help to establish the packing. The two O atoms of the p-NO(2) group are disordered with occupancies 0.825?(10):0.175?(10).

Project description:The title compound, H(3)O(+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-), consists of one picrate anion and one oxonium cation. The oxonium cation is located on a crystallographic twofold axis and both its H atoms are disordered, each over two symmetry-equivalent positions with occupancy ratios of 0.75. The picrate anions are also located on twofold axes bis-ecting the phenolate and p-nitro groups. π-π inter-actions between the rings of the picrates [centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.324 (2) Å] connect the anions to form stacks along the a-axis direction. The stacks are further joined together by the protonated water mol-ecules through hydrogen bonds to form two-dimensional sheets extending parallel to the ab plane. The sheets are stacked on top of each other along the c-axis direction and connected through C-H⋯O inter-actions between the CH groups of the benzene rings and the picrate nitro groups, with C⋯O distances of 3.450 (2) Å.

The six-membered piperazine group in the cation adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation and contains a protonated N atom. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the cyclo-propyl and piperazine rings in the cation with the 10-atom ring system of the quinolone group are 48.1 (1) and 69.9 (5)°, respectively. The picrate anion inter-acts with the protonated N atom of an adjacent cation through a bifurcated N-H⋯O three-center hydrogen bond, forming an R(1) (2)(6) ring motif. Furthermore, there is an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the anion benzene and cation piperizine, quinoline and cyclo-propyl rings are 61.3 (6), 31.1 (4) and 70.4 (9)°, respectively. The mean planes of the two o-NO(2) and single p-NO(2) groups in the picrate anion are twisted by 6.7 (6), 38.3 (9) and 12.8 (7)° with respect to the mean plane of the benzene ring. Strong N-H⋯O and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds in concert with weak π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5785 (13), 3.7451 (12) and 3.6587 (13) Å] dominate the crystal packing.
