Bis(diethyl-enetriamine)-cobalt(III) hexa-chloridoindate(III).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(C(4)H(13)N(3))(2)][InCl(6)], was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. In the cation, the Co-N bond lengths lie in the range 1.967?(2)-1.9684?(15)?Å. In the anion, the In(III) atom is coordinated by six Cl atoms resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Both metal atoms are located on special positions of site symmetry 2/m. Furthermore, one Cl atom and one N atom are located on a mirror plane. N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between cations and anions consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The cationic complex in the structure of the title compound, [Co(Et(2)NCS(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]BF(4), has a Co(III) atom with a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four S atoms of two diethyl-dithio-carbamate and two N atoms of 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. The crystal structure features head-to-tail stacking of the phenanthroline ligands. The tetra-fluorido-borate anions are positioned in the channels between the cation stacks running along the a axis, and form weak C-H⋯F interactions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(4)H(13)N(3))(2)][Ni(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)], has been synthesized by the reaction of Ni(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O, diethyl-enetriamine (deta) and Na(2)[Ni(mnt)(2)] [mnt = maleonitrile-dithiol-ate(2-)] in methanol. The structure is composed of a [Ni(deta)(2)](2+) cation and a [Ni(mnt)(2)](2-) anion. The coordination geometry of the Ni(II) ion in the cation is slightly distorted octa-hedral, defined by six N atoms from two deta ligands, while the Ni(II) ion in the anion is four-coordinated by four S atoms from two mnt ligands in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The cations and anions are connected by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Co(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(2))(C(4)H(9)N)(2)]ClO(4)·0.5C(8)H(10), the Co(III) ion has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the Me-salen ligand, the benzene rings are almost parallel, making a dihedral angle of 0.48 (13)°, but the torsion angle along the central C-C bond is 41.1 (2)°·The pyrrolidine rings are in slightly distorted chair conformations. The N atoms of the pyrrolidine axial ligands are involved in N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the perchlorate anions, and these hydrogen bonds connect the ionic species into infinite chains along the b axis. Some relatively short C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present in the crystal structure and C-H⋯O inter-actions occur. The guest solvent p-xylene mol-ecule lies on a special position at the inversion centre.

Project description:The title complex, [Co(C(8)H(12)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], whose structure was first determined by Wang & Craven [(1971). J. Chem. Soc. D, pp. 290-291], has been redetermined with improved precision. A crystallographic twofold rotation axis passes through the Co atom, which is tetrahedrally coordinated by two N atoms from two barbital ligands and two N atoms from two imidazole ligands. The mol-ecules are self-assembled via inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C(3)H(4)N(2))(6)](PF(6))(3)·6H(2)O, the Co(III) atom lies on a special position with site-symmetry and the P atom is located on a special position with site symmetry . The Co(III) atom has an almost ideal octa-hedral coordination formed by the N atoms of six imidazole ligands. The water mol-ecules form hydrogen-bonded helical chains propagating in [001] by O-H⋯O inter-actions with a distance of 2.913 (2) Å. They simultaneously inter-act as hydrogen-bond acceptors and donors with the cations and anions, respectively, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional assembly. Weak C-H⋯F inter-actions further stabilize the crystal structure.

In the anion, three Bi(III) ions adopt an octa-hedral coordination constructed by six I(-) ligands. The three BiI(6) octa-hedra are fused together through trans face-sharing.

The asymmetric unit contains three Co(3+) ions, one lying on an inversion center and the other two located at 2/m positions. All Co(3+) ions are six-coordinated by NH(3) mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+) octahedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.945 (4)-1.967 (3) Å. The nitrate N atom and one of the O atoms lie at a mirror plane. Among the Cl(-) anions, one lies in a general position, one on a twofold axis and two on a mirror plane. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title binuclear Co(II) complex, [Co(2)(C(12)H(21)N(2)Si)(2)Cl(2)], an inversion center is located at the mid-point between the two Co atoms in the dimeric mol-ecule. The bidentate N-silylated anilide ligand coordinates the Co(II) atom in an N,N'-chelating mode and provides the anilide N atom as a bridge to link two Co(II) atoms. The two ends of the N-Si-N chelating unit exhibit different affinities for the metal atom. The Co-N(anilide) bond is 2.031 (6) Å and Co-N(amino) bond is 2.214 (6) Å. The four-coordinate Co atom presents a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, while the dimeric aggregation exhibits a (CoN)(2) rhombus core with 1.998 (6) Å as the shortest sides and shows a ladder structure composed of Co, N and Si atoms.
