Bis(diethyl-enetriamine)-cobalt(III) hexa-chloridoindate(III).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(C(4)H(13)N(3))(2)][InCl(6)], was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. In the cation, the Co-N bond lengths lie in the range 1.967?(2)-1.9684?(15)?Å. In the anion, the In(III) atom is coordinated by six Cl atoms resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Both metal atoms are located on special positions of site symmetry 2/m. Furthermore, one Cl atom and one N atom are located on a mirror plane. N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between cations and anions consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Co(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(2))(C(4)H(9)N)(2)]ClO(4)·0.5C(8)H(10), the Co(III) ion has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the Me-salen ligand, the benzene rings are almost parallel, making a dihedral angle of 0.48 (13)°, but the torsion angle along the central C-C bond is 41.1 (2)°·The pyrrolidine rings are in slightly distorted chair conformations. The N atoms of the pyrrolidine axial ligands are involved in N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the perchlorate anions, and these hydrogen bonds connect the ionic species into infinite chains along the b axis. Some relatively short C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present in the crystal structure and C-H⋯O inter-actions occur. The guest solvent p-xylene mol-ecule lies on a special position at the inversion centre.

Project description:The title complex, [Co(C(8)H(12)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], whose structure was first determined by Wang & Craven [(1971). J. Chem. Soc. D, pp. 290-291], has been redetermined with improved precision. A crystallographic twofold rotation axis passes through the Co atom, which is tetrahedrally coordinated by two N atoms from two barbital ligands and two N atoms from two imidazole ligands. The mol-ecules are self-assembled via inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a supra-molecular network.

Project description:The cationic complex in the structure of the title compound, [Co(Et(2)NCS(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]BF(4), has a Co(III) atom with a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four S atoms of two diethyl-dithio-carbamate and two N atoms of 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. The crystal structure features head-to-tail stacking of the phenanthroline ligands. The tetra-fluorido-borate anions are positioned in the channels between the cation stacks running along the a axis, and form weak C-H?F interactions.

Project description:The title Co(II) complex, [Co(C(9)H(9)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(14)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], contains two 4-ethyl-benzoate (PEB), two monodentate diethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligands and two water mol-ecules. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Co(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the DENA ligands in the axial positions. Intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the water mol-ecules to the carboxyl-ate groups. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 4.52?(18) and 4.56?(18)°, while the pyridine rings and the benzene rings are oriented at dihedral angles of 7.76?(10) and 5.67?(13)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains propagating along [010]. C-H?O inter-actions and a ?-? contact between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.476?(2)?Å] are also observed.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, [Co(C(7)H(4)BrO(2))(2)(C(10)H(14)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Co(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The asymmetric unit is completed by one 2-bromo-benzoate anion, one diethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule; all ligands are monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around Co(II) form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two pyridine N atoms of the DENA ligands in axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 84.7 (1)°; the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 43.64 (6)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into infinite chains. π-π contacts between the parallel pyridine rings of neighboring DENA ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.652 (3) Å] further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(NH(3))(6)](2)Cl(5)(NO(3)), was obtained under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit contains three Co(3+) ions, one lying on an inversion center and the other two located at 2/m positions. All Co(3+) ions are six-coordinated by NH(3) mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+) octahedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.945?(4)-1.967?(3)?Å. The nitrate N atom and one of the O atoms lie at a mirror plane. Among the Cl(-) anions, one lies in a general position, one on a twofold axis and two on a mirror plane. N-H?O and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear title complex, [Co(2)(C(11)H(14)NO(2))(4)(C(10)H(14)N(2)O)(2)], the two Co(II) cations [Co?Co = 2.6199?(5)?Å] are bridged by four 4-(diethyl-amino)-benzoate (DEAB) anions. The four nearest O atoms around each Co(II) ion form a distorted square-planar arrangement, the distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry being completed by the pyridine N atom of an N,N-diethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) ligand. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the carboxyl-ate group is 7.06?(11)° in one of the independent DEAB ligands and 4.42?(9)° in the other. The benzene rings of the two independent DEAB ligands are oriented at a dihedral angle of 86.35?(8)°. The pyridine ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 31.43?(6) and 57.92?(7)° with respect to the two benzene rings. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. Weak C-H?? inter-actions are also present in the crystal structure.

This core has acute P-In-P and obtuse In-P-In bond angles compared with other [R(2)InPR'(2)](2) analogues, due to the presence of the bulky aromatic substituents on the In atom and the non-sterically demanding ethyl substituents on the P atom.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Bi(2)(C(11)H(16)N)(4)(CO(3))], consists of a symmetrically bridging carbonato group which binds two [2-Et(2)NCH(2)C(6)H(4)](2)Bi units that are crystallographically related via a twofold rotation axis bis-ecting the carbonate group. The two Bi atoms and two of the C atoms directly bonded to bis-muth are quasi-planar [deviations of 0.323 (1) and 0.330 (9)Å for the Bi and C atoms, respectively] with the carbonate group. The remaining two ligands are in a trans arrangement relative to the quasi-planar (CBi)(2)CO(3) system. The metal atom is strongly coordinated by the N atom of one pendant arm [Bi-N = 2.739 (6) Å], almost trans to the O atom, while the N atom of the other pendant arm exhibits a weaker intra-molecular inter-action [Bi⋯N = 3.659 (7) Å] almost trans to a C atom. If both these intra-molecular N→Bi inter-actions per metal atom are considered, the overall coordination geometry at bis-muth becomes distorted square-pyramidal [(C,N)(2)BiO cores] and the compound can be described as a hypervalent 12-Bi-5 species. Additional quite short intra-molecular Bi⋯O inter-actions are also present [3.796 (8)-4.020 (9) Å]. Inter-molecular associations through weak η(6)⋯Bi inter-actions [Bi⋯centroid of benzene ring = 3.659 (1) Å] lead to a ribbon-like supra-molecular association.
