Aqua-[N'-(3-eth-oxy-2-oxidobenzyl-?O)furan-1-carbohydrazidato-?N',O]dioxido-molybdenum(VI)-4,4'-bipyridine (2/1).

ABSTRACT: The Mo(VI) atom in the title co-crystal, [Mo(C(14)H(12)N(2)O(4))O(2)(H(2)O)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2), is O,N,O'-chelated by the deprotonated Schiff base and coordinated by the oxide and water O atoms in an octa-hedral geometry. The five-membered chelate ring is planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.019?Å), but the six-membered chelate ring is puckered (r.m.s. deviation = 0.108?Å). Two mononuclear mol-ecules are linked across a center of inversion by an O-H(water)?O hydrogen bond; adjacent dinuclear units are linked by an water-4,4'-bipyridine O-H?N hydrogen bond, generating a linear chain structure. The 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The title hydrate, [Mo(2)Cl(2)O(5)(C(18)H(24)N(2))(2)]·0.2H(2)O, has been isolated as the oxidation product of [Mo(?(3)-C(3)H(5))Cl(CO)(2)(di-t-Bu-bipy)] (where di-t-Bu-bipy is 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine). A ?-oxide ligand bridges two similar MoCl(di-t-Bu-bipy)O(2) units, having the terminal oxide ligands mutually cis, and the chloride and ?-oxide trans to each other. In the binuclear complex, the coordination geometries of the metal atoms can be described as highly distorted octa-hedra. Individual complexes co-crystallize with a partially occupied water mol-ecule of crystallization (occupancy factor = 0.20; H atoms not located), with the crystal packing being mediated by the need to effectively fill the available space. A number of weak C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions are present.

Project description:In the title benzil-idene Schiff base molybdenum(VI) complex, [Mo(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(3))O(2)(CH(3)OH)], the Mo(VI) ion is coordinated by two oxide O atoms and by two O atoms and one N atom of the tridentate N'-(3-meth-oxy-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)benzo-hydrazidate (L) Schiff base ligand. The methanol O atom completes the distorted octa-hedral configuration of the Mo(VI) atom. Strong O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds form a C(5) chain around a 2(1) screw axis. Weak C-H-O hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The coordination geometry at the Mo(VI) atom in the title compound, [Mo(C(16)H(14)N(2)O(4))O(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)], is distorted octa-hedral. The phenolate O, imino N, oxide O from the enolized carbonyl group and one of the terminal O atoms form the equatorial plane; the axial positions are occupied by the other terminal O atom of the dioxidomolybdenum group and the donor O atom of DMSO. The O=Mo=O angle is 105.31?(6)°. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond and weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present in the structure.

Project description:The title Schiff base complex, [V(C(13)H(10)N(3)O(2))O(2)], features a square-pyramidal coordination geometry defined by the O,N',O'-donors of the tridentate Schiff base ligand and two oxide O atoms; one oxide O atom occupies the apical position. In the crystal, pyridinium-oxide N-H?O hydrogen bonds lead to zigzag supra-molecular chains with a flattened topology along [101]. The investigated crystal was twinned by nonmerohedry; the minor component refined to 18.5?(5)%.

One 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule bridges two Mn atoms, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear complex; the mid-point of the C-C bond linking the pyridine rings of the bridging ligand is located on an inversion center. Each Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water and two 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mn(II) atom deviates by 0.591?(5) and 0.209?(2)?Å from the mean planes of the coordinated pyridine rings. In the 4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium cation, the two pyridine rings are twisted with respect to each other, making dihedral angle of 34.78?(17)°. The uncoordinated bipyridine mol-ecule is also centrosymmetric. One of uncoordinated water mol-ecules has site symmetry 2, and the other uncoordinated water mol-ecule is located close to an inversion center and its one H atom is disordered equally over two sites. Extensive ?-? stacking between pyridine rings is observed and an extensive hydrogen-bonding network of the types N-H?N, O-H?N and O-H?O is present.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mo(4)O(12)(C(8)H(7)N(3))(4)], the Mo(VI) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination completed by two terminal O atoms, two ?-oxide atoms and two N atoms from one 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligand. It is noteworthy that in the tetranuclear unit ( symmetry), any three Mo(VI) atoms define a plane, and the fourth lies 1.8?(1)?Å out of that plane. The degree of linearity of the oxide bridges between two Mo atoms is 175.38?(13)°. Moreover, the N-H group forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond (four per mol-ecule).

Project description:The reaction of 2-hy-droxy-1,4-naphtho-quinone and 4,4'-bipyridine with zinc acetate produced the title compound, [Zn(C(10)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O. The bond lengths and angles around the metal atom indicate a deviation from octa-hedral geometry. The two naphtho-quinone ligands coordinate in a cis fashion, with the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand and the water mol-ecules completing the coordination sphere of the metal atom. The asymmetric unit contains also one free 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule and two uncoordinated water mol-ecules. These mol-ecules make contacts with the complex through O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, creating a layer two-dimensional network parallel to (121).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mo(C(19)H(16)Br(4)N(2)O(2))O(2)], comprises two mol-ecules. The coordination environments around the Mo(VI) atoms are distorted octa-hedral, defined by two oxide ligands and an N(2)O(2) donor set of the tetra-dentate Schiff base in each mol-ecule. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the mol-ecules are 76.2?(3) and 77.7?(3)°. An inter-esting feature of the crystal structure is the presence of Br?Br contacts [3.4407?(11), 3.5430?(11) and 3.6492?(10)?Å], which are shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radius of Br atoms (3.70?Å). The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molcular C-H?Br and C-H?? inter-actions. The crystal under investigation was twinned by nonmerohedry in a 0.053?(1):0.947?(1) ratio.
