Bis(4-amino-1-hexylpyridinium) bis(1,2-dicyanoethene-1,2-dithiolato)cuprate(II).

ABSTRACT: The complete complex anion in the title salt, (C(11)H(19)N(2))(2)[Cu(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)], has 2/m symmetry while the complete cation is generated by mirror symmetry with the non-H atoms of the alkyl chain lying on the plane. A square-planar geometry based on an S(4) donor set is found in the anion; the Cu-S distance is 2.2663?(5)?Å. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds link the ions into layers in the bc plane comprising alternating rows of cations and anions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(4)H(13)N(3))(2)][Ni(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)], has been synthesized by the reaction of Ni(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O, diethyl-enetriamine (deta) and Na(2)[Ni(mnt)(2)] [mnt = maleonitrile-dithiol-ate(2-)] in methanol. The structure is composed of a [Ni(deta)(2)](2+) cation and a [Ni(mnt)(2)](2-) anion. The coordination geometry of the Ni(II) ion in the cation is slightly distorted octa-hedral, defined by six N atoms from two deta ligands, while the Ni(II) ion in the anion is four-coordinated by four S atoms from two mnt ligands in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. The cations and anions are connected by N-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(13)H(11)N(2))(2)[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·3H(2)O, consists of one [Cu(pydc)(2)](2-) dianion (pydc is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate), two 9-amino-acridinum monocations and three uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two pydc dianions acting as tridentate ligands, and forming five-membered chelate rings with copper(II) as the central atom. The Cu(II) atom is surrounded by four O atoms in the equatorial plane and two pyridine N atoms in axial positions, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, there are two types of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding synthons linking the anionic and cationic fragments and the water mol-ecules, namely R(4) (4)(16), and R(4) (2)(8). There are also weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, ?-? stacking inter-actions [the shortest centroid-centroid distance is 3.350?(2)?Å], and a C-O?? inter-action [O?centroid distance = 3.564?(2)?Å], which connect the various components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(2)[CuBr(4)], the geometry around the Cu atom is inter-mediate between tetra-hedral (T(d)) and square planar (D(4h)). Each [CuBr(4)](2-) anion is connected non-symmetrically to four surrounding cations through N-H⋯X (pyridine and amine proton) hydrogen bonds, forming chains of the ladder-type running parallel to the crystallographic b axis. These layers are further connected by means of offset face-to-face inter-actions (parallel to the a axis), giving a three-dimensional network. Cation π-π stacking [centroid separations of 3.69 (9) and 3.71 (1) Å] and Br⋯aryl inter-actions [3.72 (2) and 4.04 (6) Å] are present in the crystal structure. There are no inter-molecular Br⋯Br inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, K(3)[Cu(C(10)H(12)N(2)O(10)P)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion, one potassium cation and a P atom are situated on a twofold rotation axis. The Cu(II) ion is coordinated by two N and four O atoms from one bis-{[bis-(carboxyl-atometh-yl)amino]-meth-yl}phosphinate ligand in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The two crystallographically independent potassium ions exhibit different coordination environments. The potassium ion in a general position is hepta-coordinated by five carboxyl-ate O atoms, one phosphinate O atom and one water mol-ecule [K-O = 2.718?(3)-3.040?(3)?Å], and the potassium ion situated on the twofold rotation axis is hexa-coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules [K-O = 2.618?(3)-2.771?(3)?Å]. The water mol-ecules are also involved in formation of inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(2)[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)], contains half of a [Cu(pydc)(2)](2-) (pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid) anion and one protonated 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridine (2a4mpH)(+) counter-ion. The anion is a six-coordinated complex with a distorted CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry around the Cu(II) ion. N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds along with π-π contacts between the pyridine rings of the (2a4mpH)(+) cations [centroid-centroid distance = 3.573 (2) Å] stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(3)(C(10)H(22)N(2)S(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the complex cation consists of a nickel(II) ion and two [Ni(C(10)H(22)N(2)S(2))] units with an N(2)S(2) tetra-dentate ligand, 3,3'-[1,2-ethane-diylbis(methyl-imino)]bis-(1-propane-thiol-ate). The central Ni(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion centre and is bound to the four S atoms of the two [Ni(C(10)H(22)N(2)S(2))] units to form a linear sulfur-bridged trimetallic moiety. The dihedral angle between the central NiS(4) plane and the terminal NiN(2)S(2) plane is 145.71?(5)°. In the [Ni(C(10)H(22)N(2)S(2))] unit, the two methyl groups on the chelating N atoms are cis to each other, and the two six-membered N,S-chelate rings adopt a chair conformation. The Ni-S bond lengths and the S-Ni-S bite angles in the central NiS(4) group are similar to those in the [Ni(C(10)H(22)N(2)S(2))] unit.

Project description:The title ion-pair compound, (C(7)H(7)N(2))(2)[Cu(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)], was obtained by the direct reaction of CuCl(2)·2H(2)O, disodium maleonitrile-dithiol-ate (Na(2)mnt) and 4-cyano-1-methyl-pyridinium iodide. The anion and one pyridinium cation lie entirely on a mirror plane, whereas for the other cation, a crystallographic mirror plane runs through the N and para-C atoms of the pyridine ring, the methyl C atom, and the cyano group. In the crystal, ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H?N hydrogen bonds.
