Catena-Poly[1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium [lead(II)-tri-μ-iodido-lead(II)-tri-μ-iodido]].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, {(C(14)H(18)N(2))[Pb(2)I(6)]}(n), consists of discrete 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium cations and one-dimensional [Pb(2)I(6)](n) anions. The organic cation has an inversion center at the mid-point of the ethane C-C bond. In the anion, the Pb(II) atom is coordinated by six I atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The I atoms bridge the Pb(II) atoms into a polymeric chain running along [001]. These inorganic chains are separated by the isolated organic cations.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {(C(12)H(14)N(2))[Fe(NCS)(4)]}(n), the iron(II) cation is coordinated by four N-bonded and two S-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. The asymmetric unit consists of half an iron(II) cation and half a protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication, each located on a centre of inversion. In addition, there are two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains in which each iron(II) cation is additionally coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions. Non-coordinating dipyridinium dications are present between the thiocyanatoferrate(II) chains and are connected to the anions via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen-bond interactions.

Project description:In the cation of the title compound, (C(15)H(20)N(2))[CdBr(4)], the dihedral angle between the two pyridine rings is 70.85?(5)°. An inter-molecular ?-? inter-action between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.900?(4)?Å] is observed. The Cd(II) atom has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, (C(12)H(14)N(2))[Cr(2)O(7)], the two pyridinium moieties are in an anti orientation with respect to one another. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 6.3?(2)°. The N-C-C-N torsion angle is 177.5?(2)°. In the dianion, the Cr(VI) ions are in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment and the bond angles at the independent Cr(VI) ions are in the ranges 105.93?(10)-110.60?(11) and 107.35?(11)-111.07?(12)°. The Cr-O-Cr angle is 127.96?(12)°. The crystal used was an inversion twin with refined components of 0.510?(19) and 0.490?(19).

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(14)N(2) (2+)·2IO(3) (-), exhibits two crystallographically independent iodate anions, the I atoms of which are each in a trigonal-pyramidal environment. In the dication, the two pyridine rings adopt an anti conformation with respect to each other; the angle between these two rings is 3.84 (19)°. In the crystal structure, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions lead to the formation of layers arranged parallel to the ab plane. I⋯O halogen bonds [R(2) (2)(4) graph-set motif] range between 2.873 (2) and 3.036 (3) Å and connect neighbouring IO(3) (-) anions with each other along [100], so as to create a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title complex, {(C(16)H(12)FN(2))[PbI(3)]}(n), consists of 1-[(2-fluoro-benzyl-idene)amino]-quinolinium cations and a polymeric PbI(3) (-) anion formed by face-sharing PbI(6) octa-hedra. These octa-hedra form straight and regular infinite chains along the b axis. In the asymmetric unit, one cation and one anionic [PbI(3)](-) fragment are observed in general positions. Polymeric chains are produced by the glide plane perpendicular to the a axis.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(14)N(2) (2+)·2C(7)H(5)O(3) (-), the cations and anions are linked via N-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions also occur. ?-? stacking is observed between the nearly parallel benzene and pyridine rings [dihedral angle = 6.03?(8)°], the centroid-centroid separation being 3.7546?(16)?Å. The 4,4'-(ethane-1,2-diyl)dipyridinium cation is centrosymmetric and the mid-point of the ethyl-ene C-C bond is located on an inversion center. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond occurs in the anion.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(10)H(16)O(4))(C(16)H(14)N(4))](n), the Cd(II) ion is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two sebacate ligands and two N atoms from the chelating 1,4-bis-(2-benzimidazol-yl)ethanebutane ligand. Neighboring Cd(II) ions are bridged by the sebacate ligands, forming a zigzag polymeric chain structure. Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(11)H(16)N(4))](n), the Cu atom is coordinated by two N atoms of two 3,3',5,5'-tetra-methyl-4,4'-methyl-enedipyrazole (H(2)mbdpz) ligands, two bridging Cl atoms and one terminal Cl atom, forming a square-pyramidal geometry. The bridging Cl atoms and the bridging H(2)mbdpz ligands connect the Cu atoms to build up an extended one-dimensional chain. The chains are further connected through N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to build up a two-dimensional layer in the (011) plane. An inversion centre lies between every pair of adjacent Cu atoms.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(20)H(22)N(2)O(4))]·0.5H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry involving an N(2)O(2) atom set of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit contains one mol-ecule of the complex and half a water solvent mol-ecule. The solvent water mol-ecule lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. An inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond forms an R(2) (1)(4) ring motif involving a bifurcated hydrogen bond to the phenolate O atoms of the complex. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by π-π stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.5310 (11)-3.7905 (12) Å, forming extended chains along the b axis. In addition, there are Ni⋯Ni and Ni⋯N inter-actions [3.4404 (4)-4.1588 (4) and 3.383 (2)-3.756 (2) Å, respectively] which are shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of the relevant atoms. Further stabilization of the crystal structure is attained by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The organic-inorganic hybrid, {(C(6)H(13)N(3))(2)[Pb(3)I(10)]}(n), was obtained by the reaction of 1-(3-ammonio-prop-yl)imidazolium triiodide and PbI(2) at room temperature. The structure contains one-dimensional {[Pb(3)I(10)](4-)}(n) polymeric anions spreading parallel to [001], resulting from face-face-edge association of PbI(6) distorted octa-hedra. One of the Pb(II) cations is imposed at an inversion centre, whereas the second occupies a general position. N-H?I hydrogen bonds connect the organic cations and inorganic anions.
