(E)-N'-(3,5-Dichloro-2-hy-droxy-benzyl-idene)-2-meth-oxy-benzohydrazide.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(12)Cl(2)N(2)O(3), the dihedral angle between the two substituted aromatic rings is 5.4 (4)°. Intra-molecular O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds affect the planarity of the molcular conformation, with a mean deviation from the plane defined by the non-H atoms of 0.062 (2) Å. The mol-ecule exists in a trans configuration with respect to the methyl-idene unit. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O inter-actions.

The meth-oxy group is almost co-planar with respect to the attached benzene ring [C(m)-O-C-C (m = meth-yl) = -1.45?(17)°]. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds into sheets parallel to the bc plane. These sheets are further connected into a three-dimensional network by weak C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions.
