ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(10)H(10)NO)(2)[Ni(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O, the coordination geometry of the Ni(II) atom can be described as distorted octa-hedral. In the crystal, noncovalent inter-actions play an important role in the stabilization of the structure, involving O-H?O, N-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7138?(15)?Å] and between the 8-hy-droxy-2-methyl-quinolinium cations [centroid-centroid distances = 3.6737?(15), 3.4434?(14), 3.6743?(15), 3.7541?(16), 3.5020?(15) and 3.7947?(15)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, (C(10)H(10)NO)(2)[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O was prepared by the reaction of copper(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate, 8-hy-droxy-2-methyl-quinoline, and pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid in a 1:2:2 molar ratio in an aqueous solution. The geometry of the resulting CuN(2)O(4) coordination can be described as distorted octa-hedral. In the crystal, there are several inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs in one of the cations. Considerable π-π stacking inter-actions are also observed between the aromatic rings of the cations, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.4567 (13), 3.5342 (14), 3.6941 (14) and 3.4568 (13) Å. These non-covalent inter-actions connect the components, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

In the crystal, a network of O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the cations, anions and water mol-ecules results in a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Co(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), consists of four crystallographically independent Co cations, four benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc) anions, two water and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. Two of the Co cations and two of the bdc anions are located on centres of inversion, whereas all other atoms are located in general positions. In the crystal, two Co atoms are only fourfold coordinated by three O atoms from three bdc ligands and by one O atom from one coordinated water mol-ecule, while a third Co atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four bdc ligands within a strongly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other two Co cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by six O atoms from six bdc anions. The Co cations are linked by the bdc anions into a three-dimensional framework. From this arrangement, cavities are formed in which additional methanol and water mol-ecules are embedded.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(4)H(12)N(2))[Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n) or {(pipzH(2))[Bi(2)(pydc)(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), where pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and pipz is piperazine, was obtained by reaction of Bi(NO(3))(3)·5H(2)O with (pipzH(2))(pydc-H)(2)·3H(2)O in a 1:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. There are two independent Bi(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is eight-coordinate with a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, and another which is nine-coordinate with a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the (pydc)(2-) ligands link dinuclear [Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)](2-) units into one-dimensional coordin-ation polymers. The pipzH(2) (2+) cations (site symmetry ) and non-coordinated water mol-ecules lie between these polymers, forming N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the O atoms of the carboxylate groups.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate, propane-1,2-diamine and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid in a 1:2:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution resulted in the formation of the title compound, (C(3)H(12)N(2))[Ni(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O or (p-1,2-daH(2))[Ni(pydc)(2)]·4H(2)O (where p-1,2-da is propane-1,2-diamine and pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid). The geometry of the resulting NiN(2)O(4) coordination can be described as distorted octa-hedral. Considerable C=O⋯π stacking inter-actions are observed between the carboxyl-ate C=O groups and the pyridine rings of the (pydc)(2-) fragments, with O⋯π distances of 3.1563 (12) and 3.2523 (12) Å and C=O⋯π angles of 95.14 (8) and 94.64 (8)°. In the crystal structure, a wide range of non-covalent inter-actions, consisting of hydrogen bonding [O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O, with D⋯A distances ranging from 2.712 (2) to 3.484 (2) Å], ion pairing, π-π [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.4825 (8) Å] and C=O⋯π stacking, connect the various components to form a supra-molecular structure.

The anion is an eight-coordinate complex with a square-anti-prismatic geometry around the Bi(III) atom. In the crystal, extensive O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, as well as ion pairing, C=O⋯π inter-actions [O⋯centroid distance = 3.583 (5) Å], π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.864 (3) Å], and C-H⋯π and C-H⋯O inter-actions, play an important role in the formation and stabilization of the three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)]·C(2)H(8)N(2)·4H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of copper(II) acetate dihydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (H(2)dipic) and ethyl-enediamine (en) in an aqueous solution. All of the Cu(II) atoms in the trinuclear centrosymmetric title complex are six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry with N(2)O(4) and N(4)O(2) environments for the outer and central Cu(II) atoms, respectively. Various inter-actions, including numerous O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-O?? stacking of the pyridine and carboxyl-ate groups [O?centroid distances = 3.669?(2) and 3.668?(2)?Å] are observed in the crystal structure.
