The hy-droxyl group in involved in an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, ?-? inter-actions between the rings of the bicycle [inter-centroid distances = 3.498?(2) and 3.539?(2)?Å] pack mol-ecules into stacks along the b axis, and weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds further link these stacks into layers parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:In the title compound, C(29)H(21)O(3)P, a coumarin-substitued ylid, the P atom is linked to three benzene rings and a planar coumarin moiety via a methyl-enecarbonyl group. The bond lengths in the P=C-C=O fragment clearly indicate a delocalized system involving the olefinic and carbonyl bonds. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H?O inter-action that results in an S7 graph-set ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(15)H(11)FO(2), mol-ecules form inversion dimers through pairs of weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Dimers oriented in parallel, linked by C-H⋯π contacts, are arranged in columns along the b axis. The fluoro-phenyl ring and the benzene ring of the 2H-chromen-4(3H)-one unit are inclined to one another by 70.41 (16)°. They are respectively parallel in a given column or almost perpendicular [oriented at an angle of 87.8 (1)°] in neighbouring (inversely oriented) columns, forming a herringbone pattern.
