Cyclo-Tetra-kis(μ-3-acetyl-4-methyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxyl-ato-κN,O:N,O)tetra-kis[aqua-copper(II)] tetra-deca-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2)O(3))(4)(H(2)O)(4)]·14H(2)O, a tetra-nuclear [2 × 2] grid-type complex with S4 symmetry, contains four Cu(II) atoms which are bridged by four pyrazole-carboxyl-ate ligand anions and are additionally bonded to a water molecule. Each Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms of the carboxyl-ate and acetyl groups, two pyrazole N atoms of doubly deprotonated 3-acetyl-4-methyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carb-oxy-lic acid and one O atom of a water mol-ecule. The geometry at each Cu(II) atom is distorted square-pyramidal, with the two N and two O atoms in the equatorial plane and O atoms in the axial positions. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions additionally stabilize the structure. One of the uncoordinated water molecules shows half-occupancy.

Project description:In the trinucler Cu(II) complex mol-ecule of the title compound, [Cu(3)(C(5)HN(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(8)]·4H(2)O, the central Cu(II) atom is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The equatorial sites are occupied by two N and two O atoms from two pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and the axial positions are occupied by two water mol-ecules. The two other symmetry-related Cu(II) atoms are penta-coordinated and assume a square-pyramidal geometry. In the crystal structure, coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear complex, [Mn(4)(C(12)H(6)O(4))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)(8)]·4H(2)O, two independent Mn(II) ions are coordinated in a slightly disorted octa-hedral environment by two aqua ligands, two naphthalene-1,8-dicarboxyl-ate (1,8-nap) ligands and one bis-chelating 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-bipy) ligand. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along [100]. These chains are further linked by weak π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range of 3.609 (2)-3.758 (1) Å, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, trans-di-aqua-(1,4,8,11-tetra-aza-cyclo-tetra-decane-κ4 N 1,N 4,N 8,N 11)zinc(II) trans-bis-(hydrogen 4-phospho-natobiphenyl-4'-carboxyl-ato-κO)(1,4,8,11-tetra-aza-cyclo-tetra-decane-κ4 N 1,N 4,N 8,N 11)zinc(II), [Zn(C10H24N4)(H2O)2][Zn(C13H9O5P)2(C10H24N4)], both Zn atoms lie on crystallographic inversion centres and the atoms of the macrocycle in the cation are disordered over two sets of sites. In both macrocyclic units, the metal ions possess a tetra-gonally elongated ZnN4O2 octa-hedral environment formed by the four secondary N atoms of the macrocyclic ligand in the equatorial plane and the two trans O atoms of the water mol-ecules or anions in the axial positions, with the macrocyclic ligands adopting the most energetically favourable trans-III conformation. The average Zn-N bond lengths in both macrocyclic units do not differ significantly [2.112 (12) Å for the anion and 2.101 (3) Å for the cation] and are shorter than the average axial Zn-O bond lengths [2.189 (4) Å for phospho-nate and 2.295 (4) Å for aqua ligands]. In the crystal, the complex cations and anions are connected via hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the N-H groups of the macrocycles, the O-H groups of coordinated water mol-ecules and the P-O-H groups of the acids as proton donors, and the O atoms of the phospho-nate and carboxyl-ate groups as acceptors, resulting in the formation of layers lying parallel to the (110) plane.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(6)H(3)ClNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is located on an inversion centre and is octa-hedrally coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane and two O atoms of two 6-chloro-3-carboxyl-ate ligands in axial positions. There are also four lattice water molecules present. The organic ligands are bound to the Ni(II) ion in a monodentate manner through a carboxyl-ate O atom. There is one strong intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and six inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions in the packing, resulting in a complex three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(4)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(4)(H(2)O)(4)], contains two symmetry-independent Li(I) ions, two symmetry-independent ligands and two symmetry-independent coordinated water mol-ecules. They form a dinuclear unit in which the two Li(I) ions are bridged by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the two ligands. Two dinuclear units related by an inversion centre form the tetra-meric mol-ecule. One of the Li(I) ions shows a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry, the other a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The tetra-mers are held together by hydrogen bonds in which coordinated water mol-ecules act as donors, and the carboxyl-ate O atoms act as acceptors. A hydrogen bond between coordinated water molecule as donor and a ring N atom as acceptor is also observed.

The 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tri-carboxyl-ate ligands bridge the Cd(II) ions, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure. Intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present throughout the three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title terbium coordination polymer, {[Tb(2)(C(6)H(8)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·0.25H(2)O}(n), the Tb(III) atom is nine-coordinated, forming a TbO(9) polyhedra. Furthermore, two symmetric TbO(9) polyhedra share their edges, forming Tb(2)O(16) dimers, which are linked by adipate bridges into a layered structure. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these layers into a three-dimensional network. One of the C atoms of the adipate ligand is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.622 (9) and 0.378 (9). The structure also contains a disordered mol-ecule of water of hydration, lying close to a special position, with partial occupancy.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)Tb(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]NO(3)·4H(2)O, consists of one-half of the C(2)-symmetric trinuclear coordination cation, one-half of the C(2)-symmetric nitrate anion and two water mol-ecules. In the coordination cation, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms from a bridging-chelating carboxyl-ate group of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anion, completing a distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment. The Tb(III) atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is nine-coordinated by three tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions forming an N(3)O(6) donor set. The intra-molecular Cu⋯Tb distance of 5.0592 (11) Å indicates weak inter-actions between the Cu(II) and Tb(III) atoms. The coordination cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules are connected via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the (001) plane. Moreover, there are extensive π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 4.332 (7) and 3.878 (5) Å] between the phenanthroline ligands and between phenanthroline and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.
