Poly[[diaqua-bis-(2,2'-bipyridine)-bis-(?(3)-5-hy-droxy-isophthalato)(?(2)-5-hy-droxy-isophthalato)digadolinium(III)] trihydrate].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, {[Gd(2)(C(8)H(4)O(5))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O}(n), contains two Gd(III) cations, one of which is surrounded by three 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions, one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted N(2)O(7) tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. The other Gd cation is coordinated by four 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions and one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted N(2)O(7) tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. The 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions bridge the Gd cations, forming a layer structure. The layers are further connected by extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding, assembling a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title mixed-ligand coordination polymer, [Nd(2)(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Nd(III) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment formed by one water mol-ecule, one chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, and five monodentate carboxyl-ate groups. The local coordination polyhedron around the Nd(III) ion is a bicapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(III) centers are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups to form an Nd(2) dimeric unit; these are further connected by 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate linkers, resulting in a layered coordination network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(5))(C(12)H(12)N(2))], the Cd(II) cation is coordinated by three 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions and one 5,5'-bimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted CdO(4)N(2) octa-hedral geometry. The 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions bridge the Cd cations, forming a two-dimensional polymeric complex parallel to (100). In the complex, the hy-droxy group is linked to the uncoordinated carb-oxy-O atom via an O-H?O hydrogen bond. Weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also present in the crystal structure. One of the methyl groups is disordered over two positions in a 0.536?(11):0.464?(11) ratio.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Nd(2)(C(9)H(7)O(3))(6)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The centrosymmetric complex consists of two nine-coordinated Nd(3+) cations, six 3-hy-droxy-cinnamate anions and two chelating 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecules. The coordination geometry around the cations can be best described as distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic. The carboxyl-ate groups show different coordination and bridging modes. Two of them chelate to one Nd(3+) cation, two bridge the two cations in a bis-monodentate fashion, and two chelate to one and bridge monodentately to the symmetry-related Nd(3+) cation. The dinuclear mol-ecule is surrounded by two 2,2'-bipyridine solvent and two water mol-ecules. Extensive O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the components lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(14)H(11)O(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]NO(3)·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two O atoms from one benzilate ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A supra-molecular network is formed via inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. π-π stacking inter-actions between neighboring pyridine rings are also present, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.808 (2) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(7)H(2)F(3)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Mn(II) ion, situated on a centre of inversion, has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, two O atoms from two 2,4,5-trifluoro-3-hy-droxy-benzoate ligands and two water mol-ecules. Inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a chain along the a axis. Inter-actions between neighboring chains occur through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the chains into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to the ac plane. In addition, O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups also exist in the the crystal structure.

One HPAA ligand coordinates just to one Ce(III) ion, whereas the remaining two bridge two Ce(III) ions. The 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule and one water mol-ecule are not coordinated to Ce. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title polymeric compound, [Cu(C(12)H(12)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the asymmetric unit consists of one Cu(II) ion, one 5-tert-butyl-isophthalate (tbip) and one 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) ligand. The copper(II) ion is four-coordin-ated by two N atoms from bipy and two O atoms from two tbip ligands, leading to a distorted tetrahedral coordination. Each tbip ligand adopts a bis-monodentate coordination mode to connect two symmetry-related copper(II) ions, so forming a zigzag polymer chain parallel to [001]. The tert-butyl methyl groups are disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.506 (6)/0.494 (6).

The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding interactions.
