ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(10)N(4)O(10), the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 89.05?(16)°. One O atom of one of the nitro groups is disordered over two sites in a 0.70:0.30 ratio. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(9)N(5)O(6), contains three nitro groups. It is prepared by the reaction of benzaldehyde 2,4-dinitro-phenyl-hydrazone with nitric oxide at ambient temperature. The imine group is nearly coplanar with the (2,4-dinitro-phen-yl)-hydrazine unit. The second benzene ring and the third nitro group are twisted away from this plane, with dihedral angles of 48.5 (3) and 15.2 (3)°, respectively. Both nitro groups lie close to their attached ring plane, with C-C-N-O torsion angles of 3.1?(2) and 5.3?(2)°. The methoxy-carbonyl-methyl and amino groups are essentially coplanar and the methoxy-carbonyl-methyl group makes a dihedral angle of 79.73 (10)° with the mean plane of the hydroxy-phenyl ring. The amino and methoxy-carbonyl-methyl groups are involved in an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond which generates an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked via N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions into a two-dimensional network parallel to the (01) plane. The crystal structure is further stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions.
