ABSTRACT: The complete mol-ecule of the title complex, [Cu(C(31)H(28)N(2)O(2))], is generated by the application of twofold symmetry; the Cu and CMe(2) atoms lie on the axis. The geometry around the Cu(II) atom is distorted square-planar. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 76.0?(3) °. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(19)H(16)Cl(4)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)], comprises two crystallographically independent mol-ecules. The geometry around the Zn(II) atoms is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal, supported by the N(2)O(2) donor atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base and a coordinating water mol-ecule. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the two mol-ecules are 34.10?(15)?Å and 30.61?(15)?Å. In the crystal, neighbouring independent mol-ecules are linked by pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with R(2) (2)(6) ring motifs, and by O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. There are short Cl?Cl [3.4728?(16), 3.4863?(16), and 3.388?(1)?Å] contacts present, and mol-ecules are also linked by C-H?O and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.671?(2)?Å] inter-actions.

The ligand L adopts two kinds of coordination modes in the crystal structure; one is a monodentate coordination mode and serves to complete the octa-hedral coordination of the Cu atom and the other is an N:N'-bidentate bridging mode in a trans configuration, bridging Cu atoms via translation symmetry along the b axis into a chain structure. The perchlorate ions serve as acceptors for inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(20)H(26)N(2)O(2), the 1,3-diazinane ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation and the hy-droxy-benzyl substituents occupy equatorial positions on the N atoms of the heterocyclic ring. The central C atom of the major component is significantly out of the mean plane of the remaing atoms while the conformation of this ring in the minor component is noticeably different. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the lattice water mol-ecules and the hy-droxy groups are observed.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title Schiff base compound, C(19)H(20)Br(2)N(2)O(2), contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit, with similar conformations. Intra-molecular O-H?N (× 4) and C-H?N (× 5) hydrogen bonds form six- and five-membered rings, producing S(6) and S(5) ring motifs, respectively. One of the N atoms in mol-ecule A acts as a trifurcated acceptor, the rest of the N atoms being bifurcated acceptors. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in mol-ecules A and B are 47.83?(17) and 61.11?(17)°, respectively. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?N and C-H?N hydrogen bonds. The short distances between the centroids of the benzene rings [3.7799?(19)-3.890?(2)?Å] indicate the existence of ?-? inter-actions. In addition, the crystal structure is further stabilized by an inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond, C-H?? inter-actions, and short inter-molecular Br?Br and Br?O contacts [3.4786?(5) and 3.149?(3)?Å, respectively].
