ABSTRACT: The complete mol-ecule of the title complex, [Cu(C(31)H(28)N(2)O(2))], is generated by the application of twofold symmetry; the Cu and CMe(2) atoms lie on the axis. The geometry around the Cu(II) atom is distorted square-planar. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 76.0?(3) °. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(19)H(16)Cl(4)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)], comprises two crystallographically independent mol-ecules. The geometry around the Zn(II) atoms is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal, supported by the N(2)O(2) donor atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base and a coordinating water mol-ecule. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the two mol-ecules are 34.10?(15)?Å and 30.61?(15)?Å. In the crystal, neighbouring independent mol-ecules are linked by pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with R(2) (2)(6) ring motifs, and by O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. There are short Cl?Cl [3.4728?(16), 3.4863?(16), and 3.388?(1)?Å] contacts present, and mol-ecules are also linked by C-H?O and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.671?(2)?Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(7)H(8)N(4)S(4))(4)](ClO(4))(2)}(n), the Cu(II) atom, occupying a crystallographic inversion centre, is six-coordinated by six N atoms of three symmetry-related 2,2'-(propane-1,3-diyldithio)bis-(1,3,4-thia-diazole) (L) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The ligand L adopts two kinds of coordination modes in the crystal structure; one is a monodentate coordination mode and serves to complete the octa-hedral coordination of the Cu atom and the other is an N:N'-bidentate bridging mode in a trans configuration, bridging Cu atoms via translation symmetry along the b axis into a chain structure. The perchlorate ions serve as acceptors for inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(20)H(26)N(2)O(2), the 1,3-diazinane ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation and the hy-droxy-benzyl substituents occupy equatorial positions on the N atoms of the heterocyclic ring. There are two intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds between the N atoms of the 1,3-diazinane ring and the hy-droxy groups of the aromatic rings, with an S(6) set-graph motif. However, the two observed intra-molecular hydrogen-bond distances were different. Considering that both N atoms experience the same chemical environment, it is surprising to see the difference in O?N distances [2.6771?(14) and 2.8123?(12)?Å]. The crystal structure is further stabilized by a C-H?? interaction.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C17H16N2O5)]·2H2O, the Ni(II) ion is four-coordinated by two azomethine N and two phenolato O atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base ligand in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry. In the six-membered ring containing the metal, the azomethine N atoms and the three C atoms of the connecting 1,3-di-amino-propane-2-ol, all atoms except the metal are disordered over two sets of sites with an occupacy ratio of 0.566?(3):0.434?(3). The central C atom of the major component is significantly out of the mean plane of the remaing atoms while the conformation of this ring in the minor component is noticeably different. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the lattice water mol-ecules and the hy-droxy groups are observed.

Project description:In the crystal structure, the title Schiff base compound, C(23)H(30)N(2)O(4), exhibits crystallographic twofold rotation symmetry. The imino group is coplanar with the aromatic ring with an N-C-C-C torsion angle of -179.72 (9)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond forms a six-membered ring, producing an S(6) ring motif. The dihedral angle between symmetry related benzene rings is 28.05 (5)°. The eth-oxy group makes a C-O-C-C torsion angle of -7.20 (16)° with the benzene ring. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions.
