ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Re(C(2)H(5)O)Cl(2)O(C(7)H(9)N)(2)], was crystallized from ethanol. The crystal structure of this complex contains a Re(V) atom in a slightly distorted octahedral coordination geometry with pairs of equivalent ligands in trans positions. Adjacent complex mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is additionally stabilized by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.546?(4)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [SnCl2(C5H4NSe)2], is the product of a reaction of 2,2'-dipyridyl diselenide with tin tetra-chloride. The mol-ecule is located about a twofold rotation axis. The coordination environment of the Sn(IV) atom is a distorted octa-hedron, with two bidentate 2-pyridine-seleno-late ligands inclined to each other at an angle of 83.96?(7)°. The two Sn-Cl and two Sn-N bonds are in cis configurations, while the two Sn-Se bonds of 2.5917?(3)?Å are in a trans configuration, with an Se-Sn-Se angle of 157.988?(15)°. In the crystal, ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.758?(3)?Å] and weak inter-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along the c axis.

trans-Dichloridobis(4-phenyl-pyridine-?N)palladium(II).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(11)H(9)N)(2)], contains one half of a neutral Pd(II) complex, with the complete mol-ecule generated by the application of a twofold rotation axis; the N-Pd-N atoms lie on the axis. The Pd(II) ion has a trans-Cl(2)N(2) square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from two 4-phenyl-pyridine ligands and two Cl(-) anions. In the refinement, the pyridine ring and the phenyl ring were found to be disordered over two sites with the site-occupancy factors being 0.53?(2) and 0.51?(1), respectively, for the major components.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title tetra-nuclear niobium(V) compound, [Nb(4)(C(2)H(5)O)(8)(C(5)H(7)O(2))(4)O(4)], contains two Nb(V) atoms, two bridging O atoms, two acetyl-acetonate and four ethano-late ligands. Each Nb(V) atom is six-coordinated by the bridging O atoms, two ethano-late and one chelating acetyl-acetonate ligands. The Nb-O distances vary between 1.817?(2) and 2.201?(2)?Å and the O-Nb-O angles vary between 78.88?(8) and 102.78?(9)°, illustrating the significant distortion from ideal ocahedral geometry. The rest of the tetra-nuclear unit is generated through an inversion centre. The C atoms of two of the ethano-late mol-ecules are disordered over two sites [occupancy ratio 0.601?(12):0.399?(12)].

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C(11)H(15)NO(4), the mol-ecules are linked into sheets by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Within the mol-ecule, the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring exhibits a distinctive planar conformation [r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of 0.009?(3)Å], and the other non-H atoms are almost coplanar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.021?(3)?Å] with the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring. The conformation of the latter is governed mainly by two intra-molecular C-H?O non-classical inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(10)NO)I(C(4)H(11)NO)], was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted synthesis of a Cu/Zn mixed-metal complex using zerovalent copper, zinc(II) oxide and ammonium iodide in pure 2-(dimethyl-amino)-ethanol, in air. The mol-ecular complex has no crystallographically imposed symmetry. The coordination geometry around the metal atom is distorted square-pyramidal. The equatorial coordination around copper involves donor atoms of the bidentate chelating 2-(dimethyl-amino)-ethanol ligand and the 2-(dimethyl-amino)-ethano-late group, which are mutually trans to each other, with four approximately equal short Cu-O/N bond distances. The axial Cu-I bond is substanti-ally elongated. Inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the -OH group of the neutral 2-(dimethyl-amino)-ethanol ligand to the O atom of the monodeprotonated 2-(dimethyl-amino)-ethano-late group of the mol-ecule related by the n-glide plane, as indicated by the O?O distance of 2.482?(12)?Å, form chains of mol-ecules propagating along [101].
