ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(23)H(19)N(8)O(+)·BF(4) (-), one pyridine N atom is protonated. Two intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bond links neighboring C(23)H(19)N(8)O(+) units into cyclic supra-molecular dimers while C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the C(23)H(19)N(8)O(+) units into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C7H7N2 (+)·BF4 (-), comprises two independent but nearly identical formula units. The solid-state structure comprises corrugated layers of cations and anions, formed by C-H⋯F hydrogen bonding, that are approximately parallel to (010). Further C-H⋯F hydrogen bonding consolidates the three-dimensional architecture. The sample was refined as a two-component non-merohedral twin.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated complex salt, (C18H14N5)2[Pt(CN)4]·4H2O, consists of one 2-[2,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-imidazol-4-yl]pyridinium cation, half a tetra-cyanidoplatinate(II) dianion, which is located about a crystallographic inversion center, and two water mol-ecules of crystallization. The Pt(II) atom has a square-planar coordination environment, with Pt-CCN distances of 1.992 (4) and 2.000 (4) Å. In the cation, there is an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond linking adjacent pyridinium and pyridine rings in positions 4 and 5. Despite this, the organic component is non-planar, as shown by the dihedral angles of 10.3 (2), 6.60 (19) and 15.66 (18)° between the planes of the central imidazole ring and the pyridine/pyridinium substituents in the 2-, 4- and 5-positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked via O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Additional π-π, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N contacts provide stabilization to the crystal lattice.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, C(44)H(38)P(2) (2+)2BF(4) (-), consists of discrete dications inter-laced with the BF(4) (-) counter-ions. In each cation, both phospho-nium groups lie on the same side of the plane of the central benzene ring. The tetra-fluoro-borate anions are involved in intensive thermal motion, thus some B-F bond lengths [range 1.329 (6) to 1.391 (6) Å] deviate significantly from their standard values.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(20)N(2)PS(+)·BF(4) (-), is a salt of 2-(diisopropyl-thio-phospho-ryl-amino)-pyridine, a chelating bidentate ligand that furnishes an S atom as a soft donor and a pyridine N atom as a hard atom for transition-metal complexation. The title salt crystallizes with two formula units in the asymmetric unit. The two independent cations are protonated at the pyridine N atoms and have the S atoms syn-oriented to them so as to form bent intra-molecular N-H?S hydrogen bonds, one of which one is bifurcated by involving also an N-H?F inter-action. The phospho-ryl-amino NH groups form near linear hydrogen bonds to proximal tetra-fluoro-borate anions. Five weak C-H?F and three weak C-H?S inter-actions link the constituents into a three-dimensional framework. As a result of the crystal packing, the two cations differ notably in conformation, as can be seen from the S-P-N-C torsion angles of -18.7?(1)° in the first and -35.1?(1)° in the second cation.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(20)N(4) (2+)·2BF(4) (-), was prepared by the anion exchange of a dibromide ionic liquid with sodium tetra-fluoro-borate. The asymmetric unit contains one half of the imidazolium cation, which lies about an inversion centre at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the linking butyl chain. The two planar imidazole rings (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0013?Å) are strictly parallel and separated by 2.625?(7)?Å [vertical distance between the centroids of two imidazole rings], giving the mol-ecule a stepped appearance. The P atoms in the dication of the title compound, C(20)H(46)O(4)P(2) (2+)·2C(24)H(20)B(-)·C(4)H(10)O, have a distorted tetra-hedral coordination with P-C(Me) distances of 1.791 (2) and 1.785 (2) Å. The P-C-C-P torsion angle about the central dimethyl-ene bridge is -168.3 (1)°.
