ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(9)H(9)ClN(2), was prepared from the reaction of N-methyl-benzene-1,2-diamine and 2-chloro-acetic acid in boiling 6 M hydro-chloric acid. The benzimidazole unit is approximately planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.008?(1)?Å. The Cl atom is displaced by 1.667?(2)?Å from this plane. The methyl group is statistically disordered with equal occupancy.

Project description:The cyclo-hexane ring in the title compound, C(21)H(24)N(8), adopts a chair conformation and the five-membered heterocyclic ring to which it is fused adopts a twist conformation on their common C-C bond. The substituents on the N atoms of the central five-membered heterocycle are arranged trans with respect to the central ring. The terminal benzotriazole rings are oriented at angles of 74.66?(8) and 84.18?(8)° with respect to the mean plane of the central heterocycle. The angle between the two benzotriazole rings is 30.80?(9)°. The bond lengths and angles are within normal ranges; the largest deviation from expecta-tion is for a long N-CH(2) bond length [1.476?(2)?Å] as a consequence of an anomeric effect. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by C-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C24H25ClN2, the methine, methyl-ene and methyl C atoms of the methyl-substituted imidazolidine ring are disordered over two sets of sites with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.834?(4):0.166?(4). Each disordered ring assumes an envelope conformation with an N atom as the flap. The pendant benzyl rings are oriented equatorially with respect to the imidazolidine ring. The chloro-phenyl ring is inclined to the mean plane of the four planar atoms of the major component of the imidazolidine ring by 76.27?(12)°. The dihedral angles between the chloro-phenyl ring and the two benzyl rings are 55.31?(9) and 57.50?(8)°; the dihedral angle between these latter rings is 71.59?(9)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H?Cl inter-actions and a number of weak C-H?? inter-actions, involving all three aromatic rings, forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(9)H(9)Cl(2)NO(2), is a natural product isolated from the endophytic fungus No. B77 of the mangrove tree from the South China Sea coast. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules lie on twofold axes and form offset stacks through face-to-face π-π inter-actions. Adjacent mol-ecules in each stack are related by a centre of inversion and have an inter-planar separation of 3.53 (1) Å, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.76 (1) Å. Between stacks, there are C-H⋯O inter-actions to the nitro groups and Cl⋯Cl contacts of 3.462 (1) Å.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(21)H(24)F(2)N(2)O(2), there are two intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the N atoms of the imidazolidine ring and the hy-droxy groups. The crystal studied was a meso compound obtained by the reaction of the aminal (2S,7R,11S,16R)-1,8,10,17-tetra-aza-penta-cyclo-[8.8.1.1(8,17).0(2,7).0(11,16)]cosane with 4-fluoro-phenol. The imidazolidine ring has a twisted conformation with a CH-CH-N-CH(2) torsion angle of 44.99?(14)° and, surprisingly, the lone pairs of the N atoms are disposed in a syn isomerism, making the title compound an exception to the typical 'rabbit-ear effect' in 1,2-diamines. In the crystal, molecules are linked via C-H?F hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the c-axis direction. These chains are linked via another C-H?F hydrogen bond, forming a three-dimensional network.
