Cyclo-Tetra-?-oxido-tetra-kis-[(acetyl-acetonato-?O,O')bis-(ethano-lato-?O)niobium(V)].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title tetra-nuclear niobium(V) compound, [Nb(4)(C(2)H(5)O)(8)(C(5)H(7)O(2))(4)O(4)], contains two Nb(V) atoms, two bridging O atoms, two acetyl-acetonate and four ethano-late ligands. Each Nb(V) atom is six-coordinated by the bridging O atoms, two ethano-late and one chelating acetyl-acetonate ligands. The Nb-O distances vary between 1.817?(2) and 2.201?(2)?Å and the O-Nb-O angles vary between 78.88?(8) and 102.78?(9)°, illustrating the significant distortion from ideal ocahedral geometry. The rest of the tetra-nuclear unit is generated through an inversion centre. The C atoms of two of the ethano-late mol-ecules are disordered over two sites [occupancy ratio 0.601?(12):0.399?(12)].

Project description:In the title compound, [Nb(CH(3)O)(2)(C(5)H(7)O(2))Cl(2)], a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry is observed around the Nb(V) atom with Nb-O distances in the range of 1.8254 (16)-2.0892 (16) Å and Nb-Cl distances of 2.3997 (14) and 2.4023 (12) Å. The O-Nb-O angles vary between 81.36 (7) and 172.65 (7) °, while the trans Cl-Nb-Cl angle is 167.34 (2)°. There are no hydrogen bonds observed.

Project description:The title complex, [Fe4(C5H7O2)4(CH3O)6Cl2] or [Fe4(acac)4(μ2-OMe)4(μ3-OMe)2Cl2] (acac = acetyl-acetonate), crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic Pbca space group with one half of the mol-ecule per asymmetric unit, the other half being completed by inversion symmetry. The core structure consists of a face-sharing double pseudo-cubane entity with two opposite corners missing. Weak C-H⋯Cl inter-molecular inter-actions result in a two-dimensional layered structure parallel to the ac plane.

The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H⋯Cl bonds. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules and methanol solvent mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(4)[V(4)O(12)]·4H(2)O, contains half of a [V(4)O(12)](4-) anion, two 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridinium, (2a4mpH)(+), cations and two water mol-ecules. One water mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancies and the H atoms for this mol-ecule were not included in the refinement. The cation lies on an inversion center with four tetra-hedral VO(4) units each sharing two vertices, forming an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional network along [100]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5420?(18), 3.7577?(18) and 3.6311?(19)?Å are observed.

Crystal structure of tetra-kis-(1,1,1,5,5,5-hexa-fluoro-acetyl-acetonato)hafnium(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Hf(C5HF6O2)4], has been determined. The asymmetric unit contains two Hf(hfac)4 mol-ecules (hfac = 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexa-fluoro-acetyl-acetonate); both are located on general positions and have identical structures apart from the disorder involving three CF3 groups in one of the two mol-ecules. The mol-ecules of Hf(hfac)4 are arranged in layers that are parallel to the ab plane, and the coordination geometry of each hafnium(IV) center is a distorted square anti-prism. An inter-esting aspect of the structure is that the hfac ligands are arranged so that the Hf(hfac)4 mol-ecules have idealized 2 point symmetry, in which two of the hfac groups bridge between the two squares. Although all other M(β-diketonate)4 compounds of Hf (and Zr) also have square-anti-prismatic geometries; in almost all of them the ligands are arranged so that the mol-ecules have 222 point symmetry (in which none of the hfac ligands bridges between the two squares). The factors that favor one structure over another are not clear.

The coordination polyhedron shows a slightly distorted Archimedean square antiprismatic geometry. The asymmetric unit contains a toluene solvent mol-ecule. The crystal structure involves C-H⋯.F hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The heterometallic title complex, [Cr(2)Mn(2)(C(5)H(11)NO(2))(2)(C(5)H(12)NO(2))(2)(NCS)(4)]·4C(3)H(7)NO, was prepared using manganese powder, Reineckes salt, ammonium thio-cyanate and a non-aqueous solution of N-methyl-diethano-lamine in air. The centrosymmetric mol-ecular structure of the complex is based on a tetra-nuclear {Mn(2)Cr(2)(?-O)(6)} core. The tetra-nuclear complex mol-ecule and the two uncoordinated dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the two other mol-ecules of dimethyl-formamide do not participate in hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, 4C(7)H(10)N(+)·2H(3)O(+)·P(6)O(18) (6-), the complete cyclo-hexa-phosphate anion is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. In the crystal, the H(3)O(+) ions and the [P(6)O(18)](6-) anions are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating infinite layers lying parallel to the ab plane at z = 1/2. These layers are inter-connected by the organic cations, which establish N-H?O hydrogen bonds with the [P(6)O(18)](6-) anions.
