ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title complex, [Zn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](C(24)H(20)B)(2)·C(2)H(6)OS, the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms of two bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecules and by the O atoms of two cis-disposed dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The S atom and the methyl groups of one of the coordinated dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules are disordered in a 0.509?(2):0.491?(2) ratio. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?O hydrogen bonds between the dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules and tetra-phenyl-borate anions.

Project description:The title compound, [Yb(2)(CF(3)O(3)S)(C(10)H(15))(2)(OH)(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)](C(24)H(20)B)·C(12)H(12)N(2), crystallizes as a half-sandwich complex with a bridging trifluoro-methane-sulfonate as well as two bridging hydroxide groups. The bound bipyridine ligands have N-C-C-N torsion angles of 13.1 (9) and -12.1 (8)°. The structure also contains an uncoordinated 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine molecule with an N-C-C-N torsion angle of 169.5 (7)°. The triply bridged Yb centers are 3.5990 (4) Å apart. The Yb-N bond lengths are in the range 2.389 (6)-2.424 (5) Å.

Project description:The reaction of [Pd(MeCN)(4)](BF(4))(2) with 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpm) in MeCN-CHCl(3) afforded the title compound, [Pd(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)](BF(4))(2)·C(2)H(3)N. The asymmetric unit contains two half complexes, with the Pd(II) atoms both lying on a twofold axis. Each metal atom adopts a tetra-hedrally distorted square-planar geometry. In the crystal, [Pd(bpm)(2)] dications are linked by C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains parallel to the b axis. The chains are further linked by C-H?F and C-H?N inter-actions involving the tetra-fluoro-borate anions and acetonitrile mol-ecules. In this way, each chain interacts with six surrounding chains to generate the observed three-dimensional structure.

The Bi(III) ion is coordinated in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, defined by two N atoms of the bipy ligand, four O atoms of two HBTC(2-) anions, two O atoms of a nitrate anion and one O atom of a dimethyl sulfoxide ligand. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The S atom of the non-coordinating dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with refined site-occupancies of 0.430 (19) and 0.570 (19).

The Cu atom lies on a center of inversion. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds give rise to a one-dimensional structure. The BF(4) (-) anion is disordered over two sites in a 0.671 (10):0.329 (10) ratio.
