ABSTRACT: The Ni(II) atom in the mononuclear title compound, [Ni(C(10)H(10)NS(2))(NCS)(C(18)H(15)P)], exists within a S(2)PN donor set that defines a distorted square-planar geometry. A significant asymmetry in the Ni-S bond lengths support the less effective trans effect of SCN(-) over PPh(3).

In the crystal, pairs of N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds form inversion dimers. An intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cd(C(6)H(11)N(2)S(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], the Cd(II) ion is hexa-coordinated by two N atoms from two pyridine ligands and by four S atoms from two dithio-carbamate ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Cd(II) ion lies on a twofold axis. The piperazine ring is in chair conformation and its least-squares plane makes a dihedral angle of 81.4 (1)° with that of the pyridine ring.

Project description:In the title salt, [Hg(NCS)(CH4N2S)3]Cl, the Hg(2+) ion is coordinated in a severely distorted tetra-hedral manner by three thio-urea groups and one thio-cyanate anion through their S atoms. The S-Hg-S angles vary widely from 87.39 (5) to 128.02 (4)°. Weak intra-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds are observed, which form S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, the ions are linked by N-H⋯N and weak N-H⋯Cl inter-actions, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [CuCl(CH5N3S)(C18H15P)2]·0.48H2O, the Cu(I) ion is in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry formed by two P atoms from two tri-phenyl-phosphane ligands, one S atom from a thio-semicarbazide ligand and one chloride anion. An intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond [graph-set motif S(5)] stabilizes the thio-semicarbazide ligand in its anti conformation, and an intra-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond between the hydrazine N-H group and the chloride anion influences the arrangement and orientation of the ligands around the metal center. A weak intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond is also present. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are connected through N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds originating from the amide -NH2 group, and through O-H⋯S and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water mol-ecule. Both the direct N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds as well as the bridging hydrogen bonds mediated by the water mol-ecule connect the complex mol-ecules into zigzag chains that propagate along [010]. The solvent water mol-ecule is partially occupied, with a refined occupancy of 0.479 (7).

Crystal structure of bis-(thio-cyanato-κS)bis-(thio-urea-κS)mercury(II).

Project description:In the title complex, [Hg(NCS)2(CH4N2S)2], the Hg(II) atom is four-coordinated having an irregular four-coordinate geometry composed of four thione S atoms of two thio-cyanate groups and two thio-urea groups. The S-Hg-S angles are 172.02 (9)° for the trans-thio-cyanate S atoms and 90.14 (5)° for the cis-thio-urea S atoms. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bond, which forms an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by a number of N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. The first report of the crystal structure of this compound appeared in 1966 [Korczynski (1966 ▶). Rocz. Chem. 40, 547-569] with an extremely high R factor of 17.2%, and no mention of how the data were collected.

The methanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered about an inversion centre with an occupancy of 0.25 for each molecule. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the complex mol-ecules generate chain frameworks parallel to [010].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(13)H(10)N)(2)[Pt(NCS)(4)], contains a protonated acridine molecule and one half of a [Pt(NCS)(4)](2-) anion. In the complex anion, the Pt(II) ion is located on an inversion centre and is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by four S atoms from four thio-cyanate ligands. The compound displays numerous inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between six-membered rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.682 (3) Å. The component ions inter-act by means of inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [AgBr(C7H7NS)(C18H15P)2], was obtained from the reaction of silver(I) bromide with benzene-carbo-thio-amide (C7H7NS) and tri-phenyl-phosphane (C18H15P) in the mixed solvent of aceto-nitrile and ethanol. The mononuclear complex exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry about the metal atom, arising from one S atom of a benzene-carbo-thio-amide ligand, two P atoms of two tri-phenyl-phosphane mol-ecules and one bromide ion. An intra-molecular N-H⋯Br hydrogen bond is observed and in the crystal structure, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯Br and C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds are observed. In addition, C-H⋯π inter-actions occur, leading to [101] chains. Hirshfeld-surface analyses are presented and discussed.
