With respect to this bond, the ketone is almost coplanar [C-C-C-O torsion angle = -179.60 (10)°] and the ester is almost perpendicular [C-C-C-O = 78.42 (13)°]. The meth-oxy substituents of the central benzene ring are either almost coplanar [C-C-O-C = 3.54 (15) and 177.70 (9)°] or perpendicular [C-C-O-C = 80.08 12)° for the central substituent]. In the crystal, the three-dimensional architecture features C-H⋯O and π-π [inter-centroid distance = 3.6283 (6) Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the title salt, C(6)H(9)N(2) (+)·C(5)H(7)O(4) (-), the 2-amino-5-methyl-pyridinium cation is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.008 (1) Å. In the crystal, the protonated N atom and the 2-amino group are hydrogen bonded to the carboxyl-ate O atoms via a pair of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. The 4-carb-oxy-butano-ate anions are linked via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(27)H(24)N(4)O(5), is an inter-mediate in the synthesis of lavendamycin via a ruthenium-catalysed [2 + 2 + 2] cyclo-addition. An intra-molecular hydrogen-bond bridge from the carboline to the quinoline stabilizes a highly planar geometry [maximum deviation = 0.065 (6) Å] for the two rigid units. This hydrogen-bond-stabilized coplanarity has a very close analogy in the structure of the anti-tumor anti-biotic streptonigrin in the solid state and in solution. Inter-molecular hydrogen-bond bridges of amides groups along the a axis and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.665 (9) Å] connect mol-ecules arranged in a parallel manner.
