ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Cr(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(6)(N(3))O(CH(3)OH)(2)]·CH(3)OH, the trinuclear core has a central O atom; two methanol mol-ecules and an azide ion are coordinated to the Cr(III) atoms in the core. The three Cr(III) atoms form vertices of a nearly equilateral triangle. Each of the six acetate carboxyl-ate groups bridges a Cr-O-Cr fragment. In the crystal, the molecules inter-act with methanol solvent mol-ecules through O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network parallel to (100).

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)[Fe(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)O(H(2)O)]·C(7)H(8), was serendipitously crystallized from a reaction of disilanol with iron(II) acetate. The trinuclear acetatoferrate(III) anion has a triethyl-ammonium cation as the counterion. The three Fe atoms lie on the vertices of a regular triangle and are octa-hedrally coordinated. The complete coordination of the anion includes shared ligands among the three metal ions: a central tribridging O atom and six bidentate bridging acetyl groups. The six-coordinations of two of the metal ions are completed by a monodentate acetate ligand, whereas that of the third metal ion is completed by a water mol-ecule. The uncoordinated triethyl-ammonium cation is involved in N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding to a singly coordinated acetyl group. The coordinated aqua mol-ecule is involved in bifurcated O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. C-H⋯O inter-actions are also observed. The toluene solvent molecule is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.609 (11):0.391 (11) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(16)H(31)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2CH(3)OH, contains one half-mol-ecule of the metal complex solvated by a methanol mol-ecule. In the complex, two of the metal atoms are doubly bridged by two monodentate bridging hexa-deca-noate ligands around a center of inversion. The square-pyramidal geometry around each Cu(II) ion is completed by a terminal hexa-deca-noate O atom and two N atoms from a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. The alkyl chains of the carboxyl-ate ligands are arranged in a parallel manner with an all-trans conformation. In the crystal, a π-π inter-action formed by the bipyridine rings [centroid-centroid separation = 3.7723 (17) Å] and inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into infinite chains along the b axis. An O-H⋯O interaction between the methanol solvate and one of the carboxylate O atoms is also observed.

Tetra-μ-acetato-κO:O'-bis-[(3-cyano-pyridine-κN)ruthenium(II,III)](Ru-Ru) hexa-fluoridophosphate 1,2-dichloro-ethane monosolvate.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(4)(C(6)H(4)N(2))(2)]PF(6)·C(2)H(4)Cl(2), was obtained via a rapid substitution reaction in 2-propanol whereby 3-cyano-pyridine replaces the axial water mol-ecules in the diaquatetra-μ-acetato-diruthenium(II,III) hexa-fluorido-phosphate starting material. The product rapidly precipated and crystals were grown from 1,2-dichloro-ethane. The 1,2-dichloro-ethane mol-ecule of solvation exhibits disorder with two different orientations [occupancy ratio 0.51 (6):0.49 (6)]. All three parts, the cation, the anion and the disordered solvent mol-ecule lie on crystallographic inversion centers. The Ru-Ru bond length of 2.2702 (6) Å fits nicely into the range seen for similar complexes and correlates well with the reduction potential of the complex and donor strength of the axial ligand, 3-cyano-pyridine, as postulated in a previous study [Vamvounis et al. (2000 ▶). Inorg. Chim. Acta, 305, 87-98]. The 3-cyano-pyridine ligands orient themselves in an anti configuration with respect to each other and the Ru-Ru-N angle [174.27 (7)°] is close to being linear.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Pb(2)(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(2)(CH(3)COO)(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)], lies across an inversion center. The methanol-coordinated Pb(II) atom is chelated by the acetate anion as well as by the quinoline-2-carboxyl-ate anion. One O atom of the quinoline-2-carboxyl-ate anion bridges two symmetry-related Pb(II) atoms, forming the dinuclear compound. Aside from the six atoms connected to the Pb(II) atom by regular coordination bonds, the structure features a long Pb⋯O inter-action [3.145 (3) Å] that gives rise to a distorted Ψ-square-anti-prismatic geometry at the metal center. The H atom of the methanol is hydrogen bonded to an O atom of the acetate.

Project description:The reaction of zinc acetate and 2-methyl-8-hydroxy-quinoline in methanol yielded the centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Zn(2)(C(10)H(8)NO)(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)], which has the Zn atom within a distorted NO(4) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. Methanol-acetate O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the dinculear units into a linear supra-molecular chain extending parallel to [100].

Project description:In the title complex, [Cd(2)(CH(3)COO)(2)Cl(2)(C(16)H(14)N(4))(CH(3)OH)(2)](n), the Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated by one N atom from a centrosymmetric bridging 1,2-bis-(2,2'-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)ethane (bbe) ligand, two O atoms from a chelating acetate ligand, one O atom from a methanol mol-ecule and two bridging Cl atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Cd(II) atoms are connected alternately by the Cl atoms and bbe ligands, leading to a chain along [001]. These chains are further linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Intra-chain N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric bimetallic complex, [Cu(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(4)], is composed of two copper(II) cations, four acetate anions and four isonicotinamide (INA) ligands. The asymmetric unit contains one copper cation to which two acetate units bind asymmetrically; one of the Cu-O distances is rather long [2.740 (2) Å], almost at the limit of coordination. These Cu-O bonds define an equatorial plane to which the Cu-N bonds to the INA ligands are almost perpendicular, the Cu-N vectors subtending angles of 2.4 (1) and 2.3 (1)° to the normal to the plane. The metal coordination geometry can be described as a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramid if the extremely weak Cu-O bond is disregarded, or as a highly distorted square bipyramid if it is not. The double acetate bridge between the copper ions is not coplanar with the CuO(4) equatorial planes, the dihedral angle between the (O-C-O)(2) and O-Cu-O groups being 34.3 (1)°, resulting in a sofa-like conformation for the 8-member bridging loop. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur, some of which generate a head-to tail-linkage between INA units, giving raise to chains along [101]; the remaining ones make inter-chain contacts, defining a three-dimensional network. There are in addition a number of C-H⋯O bonds involving aromatic H atoms. Probably due to steric hindrance, the aromatic rings are not involved in significant π⋯π inter-actions.
