Bis[N'-(9H-fluoren-9-yl-idene)benzohydrazidato-κN',O]copper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(C(20)H(13)N(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) ion is tetra-coordinated by an N(2)O(2) set of two ligands in a distorted recta-ngular-planar geometry. The dihedral angle between the two coordinated five-membered metalla rings is 37.5 (3)°. The mol-ecular configuration is stabilized by two C-H⋯O and two C-H⋯N intra-molecular hydrogen bonds. The crystal packing is dominated by van der Waals inter-actions. Three atoms of the phenyl ring of the benzohydrazidate moiety are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.625 (18):0.375 (18) ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C13H10N3O)2] n , the copper(II) cation is located on a crystallographic inversion centre and adopts an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry with the equatorial plane provided by trans-arranged bis-N,O-chelating acyl-hydrazine groups from two ligands and the apices by the N atoms of two pyridine rings belonging to symmetry-related ligands. The ligand adopts a Z conformation about the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and phenyl rings is 2.99 (13)°. An intra-ligand C-H⋯N hydrogen bond is observed. In the crystal, each ligand bridges two adjacent metal ions, forming a (4,4) grid layered structure. π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.569 (4)-3.584 (9) Å] involving rings of adjacent layers result in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(15)N, the fluorene unit is essentially planar [r.m.s. deviation 0.0334?Å] and the benzene ring bound to the imine N atom bears a methyl group which is nearly coplanar [dihedral angle 0.5?(1)°]. The dihedral angle between the substituent benzene ring and the 9H-fluoren-9-imine unit is 71.1?(3)°. Inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between the benzene rings of adjacent fluorene units [centroid-centroid distance 3.8081?(13)?Å] are present in the crystal structure, resulting in a one-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

The compound can be synthesized in good yield (49%), by transformation of functional groups [starting with 5-(fluoren-9-ylidenemeth-yl)furan-2-carbaldehyde]. Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Cu(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, adopts a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral CuN(6) coordination geometry. The two bidentate 2-amino-methyl-pyridine ligands are coordinated in a trans fashion, while the two thio-cyanate ligands are at the axial positions and coordinate to the Cu atom in a bent mode with a C-N-Cu angle of 127.49 (10)°. Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(19)NO(2), obtained as an almost equimolar mixture (as shown by (1)H NMR) with the E isomer through a Wittig reaction between 4-amino-9H-fluoren-9-one and the stabilized ylide Ph(3)P=CHCO(2)C(CH(3))(3), was obtained pure in the Z configuration following crystallization from toluene. The mol-ecule shows a planar arrangement of the ring system and the new double bond, whereas the carbonyl O atom forms a 45.1?(3)° dihedral angle with it. The mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming cyclic structures with R(4) (4)(24) graph-set motifs. These motifs are connected to each other, giving rise to a sheet structure parallel to the ab plane. The linkage within the sheets is further enhanced by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the fluorene units [centroid-centroid distance = 3.583?(2)?Å].
