ABSTRACT: The Pb atom in the polymeric title compound, {[Pb(C(13)H(9)N(3)O(2))]·CH(3)OH}(n), is five-coordinated within an N(2)O(2) donor set and a lone pair of electrons, as the N-isonicotinamido-salicylaldiminate ligand coordinates the Pb(II) atom via the O,N,O'-donors and simultaneously bridges a neighbouring Pb atom via the pyridine N atom; the coordination geometry is based on a trigonal bipyramid with the O atoms in axial positions. The resulting supra-molecular chain is a 3(1) helix along the c axis. These chains are linked via inter-molecular Pb?O,N inter-actions, as well as O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb?(C?H?O?S)?(C??H?N?)?(H?O)?]·CH?COOH, the seven-coordinate Pb(II) atom is chelated by two N atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, four O atoms from three 5-sulfosalicylate dianions and one water O atom. Each dianion serves as a bridging ligand, connecting adjacent Pb(II) atoms into a centrosymmetric polymeric chain extending parallel to [001]. There are ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic systems of neighbouring dianions, with plane-to-plane distances of 3.371?(2)?Å, and between phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.484?(2)?Å. O-H?O hydrogen bonding additionally stabilizes the crystal packing. The acetic acid mol-ecules are incorporated in the voids of this arrangement. They exhibit half-occupancy due to disorder around a centre of inversion.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu(C(13)H(15)NO(3))(C(5)H(8)N(2))]·CH(3)OH}(n), contains two complex mol-ecules and two solvent mol-ecules. Each Cu(II) ion is in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination with one N and two O atoms from the Schiff base ligand and one N atom from the heterocycle in the basal positions and one carboxyl-ate O atom from a neighbouring ligand in the apical position. The apical Cu-O bonds are much longer than the basal Cu-O and Cu-N bonds. The carboxyl-ate groups of the Schiff base ligands bridge the Cu(II) ions, forming helical chains along [100]. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(8)F(4)O(4))(CH(3)OH)]·CH(3)OH}(n), two Cu(II) atoms are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups, forming the well known paddle-wheel secondary building unit (SBU) with axial methanol ligands. In each ligand, the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the two carboxyl-ate groups are 80.43?(17) and 62.5?(4)°. Within each SBU, the four carboxyl-ate groups come from four symmetry-equivalent tetra-fluoro-isophthalate ligands. Each tetra-fluoro-isophthalate group connects two SBUs, forming a layered structure . In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the free and ligated methanol mol-ecules link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Co(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), consists of four crystallographically independent Co cations, four benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc) anions, two water and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. Two of the Co cations and two of the bdc anions are located on centres of inversion, whereas all other atoms are located in general positions. In the crystal, two Co atoms are only fourfold coordinated by three O atoms from three bdc ligands and by one O atom from one coordinated water mol-ecule, while a third Co atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four bdc ligands within a strongly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other two Co cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by six O atoms from six bdc anions. The Co cations are linked by the bdc anions into a three-dimensional framework. From this arrangement, cavities are formed in which additional methanol and water mol-ecules are embedded.

The Pb(II) atom is seven-coordinated within an N(3)O(3) donor set and a lone pair of electrons, which defines a ?-pentagonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry with the pyridine N and lone pair in axial positions. The supra-molecular chains are linked into the two-dimensional array via inter-molecular Pb?N [3.020?(4)?Å] inter-actions. Layers stack along the a axis, being connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds formed between the coordinated methanol mol-ecules and perchlorate anions.

The Mn-O distances range from 2.151?(2) to 2.5093?(19)?Å, while the Mn-N distances are 2.226?(2) and 2.248?(2)?Å. Each 5-ferrocenyl-benzene-1,5-dicarboxyl-ate anion links to two Mn(II) ions, resulting in a chain along the b axis. A three-dimensional network of N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds helps to stabilize the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C16H12N2O5)(CH3OH)] n , the unique Ni(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by three O atoms and one N atom from a symmetry-unique ligand in the equatorial sites. Coordination of the axial sites is provided by an O atom of a symmetry-unique methanol ligand and an O atom of a carboxyl-ate group from a symmetry-related ligand, thus generating a one-dimensional polymer parallel to [010]. In the crystal, O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.693?(2)?Å, form a two-dimensional network parallel to (100). In addition, weak C-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds complete a three-dimensional network. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:The title Mn(III) compound, {[Mn(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(CH(3)COO)]·CH(3)OH}(n), was synthesized by a reaction between mangan-ese(II) acetate and ethyl-enebis(4-meth-oxy-salicylaldimine). The structure is made up of bis-(4-meth-oxy-salicyldene)ethyl-enediaminatomanganese(III) units bridged by acetate groups, with Mn-N = 1.9786?(9), Mn-O = 1.8784?(10) and Mn-O(acetate) = 2.056?(9) and 2.2571?(9)?Å, forming a one dimensional polymer (-Mn-acetate-Mn-acetate-) along [100]. The Mn(III) atom is in a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral environment with cis angles ranging from 81.87?(4) to 96.53?(4)° and trans angles ranging from 166.11?(3) to 173.93?(3)°. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to the phenolate O atom. In addition to this classical hydrogen bond, there are weak C-H?O inter-actions. The structure was determined from a crystal twinned by pseudo-merohedry.

Project description:The title compound, [PbCl(2)(C(17)H(9)NO(3))](n), was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of PbCl(2) and liriodenine. The lead(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral environment made up of the O and N atoms of the liriodenine ligand [Pb-O 2.666?(4)?Å, Pb-N 2.587?(5)?Å, O-Pb-N 61.78?(14)°] and four bridging chloro ligands, which link the complex mol-ecules into infinite chains along the a axis. Both crystallographically independent chloro-bridges are asymmetric, so that the Pb atom participates in two short [2.6872?(18) and 2.7952?(18)?Å] and two noticeably longer Pb-Cl bonds [2.9626?(18) and 3.031?(2)?Å].
