Catena-Poly[2-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium [(aqua-chloridocadmate)-di-μ-chlorido]].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {(C(4)H(7)N(2))[CdCl(3)(H(2)O)]}(n), contains one 1-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium cation, one Cd(II) atom, three Cl atoms and one water mol-ecule. Adjacent Cd ions are inter-connected alternately by paired Cl(-) bridges to generate an infinite one-dimensional coordination chain along the b axis. In the chain, the crystallographically unique Cd(II) atom, with a distorted octa-hedral geometry, is coordinated by five Cl(-) ions and one water mol-ecule. Intra-chain O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding between the cations and the anionic chains consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(13)H(22)N(4))[Ag(2)I(4)]}(n), was prepared by reaction of 1,3-bis-(N-ethyl-imidazolium-1-yl)propane iodide with silver (I) oxide. In the 3,3'-diethyl-1,1'-(propane-1,3-di-yl)di(1H-imidazol-3-ium) cation, the dihedral angle between the imidazole rings is 49.3 (1)°. In the [Ag(2)I(4)](2-) anion, each Ag(I) atom is bonded to three iodide anions, the two Ag(I) atoms and two of the iodides forming Ag(2)I(2) square-planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.01 Å) units·The remaining two iodides, which are placed on opposite sides of the square, together with their centrosymmetric counterparts, link the square-planar Ag(2)I(2) units into {[Ag(2)I(4)](2-)}(n) polymeric chains via Ag-I bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.

Project description:In the title compound {(C3H5N2)[Na(NO3)2]} n , the Na(I) ion is coordinated by eight O atoms from three bidentate nitrate anions and two O atoms from two monodentate nitrate anions, displaying a bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The imidazolium cation is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.0018?Å). In the crystal, the Na(I) ions are connected by bridging nitrate ligands, forming layers parallel to (010). The imidazolium cations are sandwiched between these layers.
