Poly[tetra-n-butyl-ammonium [(?(5)-benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ato)(?(4)-benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ato)-?(3)-hydroxido-trizincate] 0.25-hydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the asymmetric unit of title coordination polymer, {(C(16)H(36)N)[Zn(3)(C(9)H(3)O(6))(2)(OH)]·0.25H(2)O}(n), there are three independent Zn(2+) cations, two benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate ligands and a ?(3)-bridging hydroxide group, together with a tetra-n-butyl-ammonium counter-cation and a partially occupied water molecule of solvation (occupancy 0.25). Each Zn ion is coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms and one O atom from the bridging hydroxide ion, displaying a slightly distorted tetra-hedral stereochemistry [overall Zn-O range = 1.875?(3)-1.987?(2)?Å]. An intra-molecular hydrogen bond involving the hydroxide H atom and a carboxyl-ate O-atom acceptor is also present in the complex unit. The bridging benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate anions generate a three-dimensional framework structure.

One presents a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry defined by five O atoms [three from two carboxyl-ate groups of two benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate (BTC) ligands and the other two deriving from three water mol-ecules], while the other lies on an inversion centre and exists in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by six O atoms (two from two carboxyl-ate groups of two BTC ligands and the others from four water mol-ecules). Project description:The title compound, (C(16)H(36)N)(2)[Cd(C(5)O(3)S(2))(2)]·0.25H(2)O, contains two disordered tetra-butyl-ammonium cations, a complex [Cd(C(5)O(3)S(2))(2)](2-) anion and a 0.25-hydrate water. The anion is composed of a bidentate coordinated 3,4,5-trioxocyclo-pent-1-ene-1,2-dithiol-ate (dtcroc) group forming a distorted tetra-hedral configuration around the Cd(II) ion. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the ten-atom sulfur-substituted croconate groups in the anion is 84.10?(8)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak C-H?O and C-H?S cation-anion hydrogen-bond inter-actions. In each of the two cations one butyl group is disordered over two positions in the ratios 0.589?(11):0.411?(11) and 0.796?(12):0.204?(12).

Project description:During the crystallization of the title compound, 4C(3)H(5)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(12)N(2) (+)·2C(9)H(3)O(6) (3-)·2H(2)O, the acidic protons were transferred to the imidazole and piperazine N atoms, forming the final 4:1:2:2 hydrated mixed salt. The mean planes of the three carboxyl-ate groups in the anion are twisted with respect to the the central benzene ring, making dihedral angles of 13.5?(1), 14.5?(1) and 16.9?(1)°. In the crystal, the component ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by a combination of inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.393?(2)?Å and weak C=O?? inter-actions [O-centroid = 3.363?(2)?Å].

The Zn(II) atom located on a twofold axis is four coordinated by two O atoms from two different benzene-1,2,3-tricarboxyl-ate anions and two OH(-) anions. The third Zn(II) atom, located in a general position, is five coordinated by three O atoms from three different benzene-1,2,3-tricarboxyl-ate anions, one OH(-) anion and one water mol-ecule. Each benzene-1,2,3-tricarboxyl-ate anion bridges six Zn(II) atoms, and the OH(-) anion bridges three Zn(II) atoms, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional framework. A series of O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the benzene-1,2,3-tricarboxyl-ate anions, the OH(-) anion and the coordinating and the two water solvent mol-ecules further stablize the crystal structure. The two solvent water molecules show occupancies of 0.5 and 0.25.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, [Pb(2)(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(OH)](n), contains two crystallographically independent Pb(II) ions, one pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxyl-ate (ptc) trianion and one hydroxide anion. One of the Pb(II) atoms is coordinated by one pyridine N and four carboxyl-ate O atoms from the ptc trianion and a hydroxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The other Pb(II) atom is five-coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms and two hydroxide O atoms in a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. Project description:In the title terbium coordination polymer, {[Tb(2)(C(6)H(8)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·0.25H(2)O}(n), the Tb(III) atom is nine-coordinated, forming a TbO(9) polyhedra. Furthermore, two symmetric TbO(9) polyhedra share their edges, forming Tb(2)O(16) dimers, which are linked by adipate bridges into a layered structure. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link these layers into a three-dimensional network. One of the C atoms of the adipate ligand is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.622?(9) and 0.378?(9). The structure also contains a disordered mol-ecule of water of hydration, lying close to a special position, with partial occupancy.
