4-Chloro-N'-(2-hy-droxy-4-meth-oxy-benzyl-idene)benzohydrazide methanol monosolvate.


ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(15)H(13)ClN(2)O(3)·CH(3)OH, was synthesized by the condensation reaction of 2-hy-droxy-4-meth-oxy-benzaldehyde with 4-chloro-benzohydrazide in methanol. The Schiff base mol-ecule displays a trans configuration with respect to the C=N and C-N bonds. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 5.3?(2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bond inter-actions into chains running parallel to the a axis. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond is observed.
