ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ni(4)(C(6)H(5)N(3)O)(2)(C(6)H(6)N(3)O)(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)](NO(3))(2), is a tetra-nuclear nickel complex containing a single-decker cation, located on an inversion center. The two unique Ni(II) cations are N,N',N'',O-chelated by carbox-imid-amid-ate(2-) and carboximidamidate(1-) anions, forming a distorted four-coordinate planar structure, while the other two Ni(II) atoms are N,N',O,O'-chelated by the same bridging ligands and two pyridine mol-ecules, affording six-coordinated metals in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation is isostructural with the complex crystallized with perchlorate counter-ions in place of nitrate.

The asymmetric unit consists of one Ni(II) ion located on an inversion center, as well as one pyridine ligand, one nitrate anion and two water mol-ecules in general positions. In the crystal structure, the discrete complex cations and nitrate anions are connected by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], was obtained as the first crystalline product from the reaction of Ni(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O, picolinamide and NaN(3) in aqueous media. After a few days in the mother liquor, crystals of the cis isomer transformed into the trans isomer [?akovi? & Popovi? (2007 ?). Acta Cryst. C63, m507-m509]. The Ni atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral environment and contains two azide ions and two planar N,O-chelating picolinamide ligands, all cis related. The dihedral angle between the two chelate rings is 82.43?(7)°. Pairs of mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds into cyclic R(2) (2)(16) dimers, which are further packed into a three-dimensional framework by C(6) and C(8) chains by N-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], was prepared by the reaction of pyridine and trichloro-acetatonickel(II) in ethanol solution at room temperature. The Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination made up of four N atoms of the pyridine ligands and two O atoms of trichloro-acetate anions. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(H(2)O)(6)][Ni(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)(4)]·8H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of nickel(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (pydcH(2)) and 1,10-phenanothroline (phen) in an aqueous solution. The latter ligand is not involved in formation of the title complex. There are three different Ni(II) atoms in the asymmetric unit, two of which are located on inversion centers, and thus the [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation and the trinuclear {[Ni(pydc)(2)](2)-?-Ni(H(2)O)(4)}(2-) anion are centrosymmetric. All Ni(II) atoms exhibit an octa-hedral coordination geometry. Various inter-actions, including numerous O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-O?? stacking of the pyridine and carboxyl-ate groups [3.570?(1), 3.758?(1) and 3.609?(1)?Å], are observed in the crystal structure.

These ligands bridge the Ni(II) complex units, forming chains extending along the [110] and [[Formula: see text]10] directions. The nitrate counter-anions stabilize the crystal structure through water-nitrate O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, [Ni(C(5)H(4)NO(3)S)(2)(H(2)O)(4)], the Ni(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and two pyridine-3-sulfonate anions with an NiN(2)O(4) distorted octa-hedral geometry. The face-to-face separation of 3.561?(5)?Å between parallel pyridine rings indicates the existence of weak ?-? stacking between the pyridine rings. The shortest Ni?Ni separation is 8.1068?(10)?Å. The structure is pseudo-centrosymmetric and can also be refined in the space group C2/c in which both anionic ligands are strongly disordered and the refinement leads to significantly poorer reliability factors.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)](NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by three bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, each forming a five-membered chelate ring. In the crystal, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present between the complex cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules lead to the formation of a four-membered ring water cluster, with a planar configuration. There were an additional five grossly disordered water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which were removed by the subroutine SQUEEZE; these were were excluded in the calculation of the molecular weight, etc. ?-? stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings are also observed [centroid-centroid distances = 3.697?(2), 3.728?(2) and 3.761?(2)?Å].
