Bis(?-pyridinium-2-carboxyl-ato-?O:O')bis-[triaqua-(sulfato-?O)manganese(II)].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(2)(SO(4))(2)(C(6)H(5)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(6)], comprises half of a centrosymmetric dimer. The Mn(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms of the monodentate carboxyl-ate ligand, an O atom of the sulfate anion in axial position and three water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected through N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.842?(2)?Å].
