Poly[aqua-[μ(3)-4-carb-oxy-2-(pyridin-4-yl)-1H-imidazole-5-carboxyl-ato-κN,O:N,O:N]nickel(II)].

ABSTRACT: The water-coordinated Ni(2+) cation in the title compound, [Ni(C(10)H(5)N(3)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), assumes an octa-hedral NiN(3)O(3) coord-ination mode and is N,O-chelated by two deprotonated 2-(pyridin-4-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (HPyImDC(2-)) ligands, forming a layer structure extending in the bc plane. The chains are arranged along the b-axis direction, forming a layer structure extending in the bc plane. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the layers results in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework. The structure is isotypic with the Zn analogue [Li et al. (2009). Cryst. Growth Des.6, 3423-3431].

Adjacent Na(+) ions are linked alternately by two water O atoms and two carb-oxy O atoms into a chain along [001]. These chains are connected through the coordination of the carboxyl-ate O atoms to the Na(+) ions, forming a three-dimensional structure. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(2)(C(5)H(2)N(2)O(4))(NH(3))(2)], each of the two Ag(I) atoms is coordinated by two N atoms from an ammonia mol-ecule and a 5-carb-oxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxyl-ate ligand in an almost linear geometry, and by one carboxyl-ate O atom with a weak inter-action. The Ag atoms are assembled into a linear tetra-mer through Ag⋯Ag inter-actions. Each Ag tetra-mer is linked by four 5-carb-oxy-1H-imidazole-4-carboxyl-ate ligands, forming a puckered chain. The complex involves a strong intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(8)H(9)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment formed by two bis-chelating H(2)pimda (H(3)pimda is 2-propyl-1H-4,5-dicarb-oxy-lic acid) ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, a three-dimensional framework is formed by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water mol-ecules, coordinated water mol-ecules, carboxyl-ate O atoms and the protonated N atoms of the H(2)pimda ligands. The propyl groups of each H(2)pimda ligand are disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.50 (2):0.50 (2) and 0.762 (11):0.238 (11). In one water solvent mol-ecule, one of the H atoms was refined as disordered over two sites of equal occupancy.

The Na(I) atoms are linked by H(2)EIDC ligands, generating an infinite double chain along the a axis. Project description:In the title complex, [Pb(C(8)H(9)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the eight-coordinate Pb(II) atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and adopts a slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic N(2)O(6) coordination geometry. The ligand donor atoms are the tertiary N atoms of the imidazole rings and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of two chelating 5-carb-oxy-2-propyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxyl-ate ligands, the carb-oxy O atoms of two additional imidazole ligands and two water O atoms. The carb-oxy O and the N,O-chelate systems also link adjacent Pb(II) atoms, forming a two-dimensional layer structure, with four individual Pb(II) atoms located at the corners of a square. These layers are further inter-connected by an extensive array of O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

A supra-molecular network is stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the ligands, coordinated water mol-ecules and dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecules.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], the Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is chelated by two oxidopyridiniumcarboxyl-ate anions and further cis-coordinated by two imidazole ligands in a distorted cis-N(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. The C-O bond distance of 1.2573 (19) Å found for the non-coordinating O atom of the carboxyl-ate group indicates significant delocalization of π-electron density over this residue. Similarly, the C-O bond distance of 1.260 (2) Å in the heteroaromatic ring indicates delocalization between the deprotonated hydr-oxy group and the pyridinium ring. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atom links with the imidazole and pyridinium rings of adjacent mol-ecules via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, leading to a two-dimensional array parallel to (100).

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Zn(C(7)H(7)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O, the Zn(II) ion, located an inversion center, is N,O-chelated by two 5-carb-oxy-2-ethyl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxyl-ate anions and further coordinated by two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The carb-oxy group links with the carboxyl-ate group of the same ligand via an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. An extensive inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded network exists in the crystal structure. One disordered lattice water mol-ecule is half-occupied and is located close to an inversion center.
