Project description:The title compound, C14H11N3O5, is a Schiff base that adopts the enol-imine tautomeric form in the solid state. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 37.4?(3)° and the dihedral angles between the nitro groups and their attached rings are 4.0?(6) and 46.2?(8)°. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, molecules are linked by C-H?O interactions, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The crystal of the title compound, 0.6C(14)H(12)N(2)O(3)·0.4C(14)H(12)N(2)O(3), contains a mixture of its neutral (OH containing) and zwitterionic (NH containing) forms, in a 0.60?(4):0.40?(4) ratio. The former generates an S(6) loop via an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond and the latter generates an S(6) loop via an N-H?O hydro-gren bond. The aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 42.52?(10)°. In the crystal, C-H?? inter-actions occur and aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid separations = 3.7106?(12) and 3.9177?(13)?Å] consolidate the packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C23H16OS, contains two independent mol-ecules with opposite orientations of the meth-oxy groups bonded to the benzene rings. The napthobenzothiophene group in the two molecules is separated by an average distance of 3.912 Å. In both mol-ecules, the napthobenzothio-phene unit is almost planar, with r.m.s deviations of 0.0522 and 0.0143 Å. The meth-oxy-phenyl ring makes dihedral angles of 67.0 (6)° and 70.4 (6)° with respect to the napthobenzothio-phene ring system in the two mol-ecules. The crystal packing features C-H⋯S, π-π [centroid-centroid distances = 3.666 (10) and 3.658 (10) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a sheet running along the b-axis direction.

All the mol-ecules have similar conformations; the dihedral angles between the aromatic rings are 33.1?(1), 33.76?(9), 31.41?(9) and 32.56?(10)°. Intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds form S(6) ring motifs in each molecule. In the crystal, there are two pairs of pseudo-inversion-related mol-ecules. Along the c axis, mol-ecules are stacked with ?-? inter-actions between the 2-hy-droxy-phenyl and 4-meth-oxy-2-nitro-phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5441?(12)-3.7698?(12)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, C22H20Br2N2S, was synthesized under solvent-free conditions. The mol-ecule shows crystallographic C 2 symmetry, with the S atom of the central thio-phene ring lying on a twofold rotation axis. Furthermore, as a consequence of the (S,S) stereochemistry, the mol-ecule has a twisted conformation. The dihedral angle between the thio-phene and benzene rings is 72.7 (2)° and that between the two benzene rings is 55.9 (2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are arranged in a chevron-like pattern, without any significant inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:There are two symmetry-independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(16)N(2)O, that differ in conformation. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the two mol-ecules are 44.35 (19) and 48.14 (17)°, but the rings twist in opposite directions. The acetamide groups make nearly equal dihedral angles of 25.4 (3) and 25.7 (3)° with the parent benzene rings. An S(6) ring motif is formed in each mol-ecule by intra-molecular C-H⋯O close contacts. In the crystal, strong N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between acetamide groups generate a C(4) chain motif arranging the mol-ecules into two symmetry-independent polymeric structures extending along [010].

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(19)NO(3), the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 68.0 (1)°. The C-O-C-C torsion angle of the atoms joining these rings is 179.7 (2)°. The atoms of the methanol group were refined as disordered over two sets of sites with fixed occupancies of 0.86 and 0.14. The H atoms of the hy-droxy group in the major component are disordered over a further two sets of sites with equal occupancies. This is a necessary arrangement to allow for hydrogen bonding without unrealistic H⋯H contacts. In the crystal, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into chains along [001].
