ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Tb(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))(4)(H(2)O)(4)][W(CN)(8)], both metal atoms are eight-coordinated. The Tb(III) ion displays a dodeca-hedral geometry, while the W(v) ion exhibits a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. The Tb atoms are located on a special position of site symmetry -4, whereas the W atoms are located on a twofold rotation axis. The cations are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The title compound is isotypic with the corresponding and previously described Mo compound [Qian & Yuan (2011 ?). Acta Cryst. E67, m845].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Yb(4)Zn(4)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(20)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], contains half of a centrosymmetric octa-nuclear mol-ecule in which each Zn(II) ion is four-coordinated by three O atoms from three 2-methyl-prop-2-enoate (L) ligands and one N atom from a 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligand in a distorted pyramidal geometry. The two independent Yb(III) ions, each coordinated by eight O atoms in an irregular geometry, exhibit different coordination environments, viz. one water mol-ecule, five bridging bidentate and one chelating bidentate carboxyl-ate groups for one Yb(III) ion, and one water mol-ecule, three bridging bidentate and two chelating bidentate carboxyl-ate groups for the other Yb(III) ion. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to establish the packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Tb(2)(C(3)H(7)NO(2))(4)(H(2)O)(8)](ClO(4))(6), contains a dinuclear cation and six perchlorate anions, one of which is disordered. In the cation, the four l-alanine mol-ecules are present in their zwitterionic form and bridge two Tb(3+) ions through their carboxyl-ate O atoms. Each Tb atom is also coordinated by four water mol-ecules in a square-anti-prismatic geometry. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are held together via inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Tb(2)(C(7)H(3)F(2)O(2))(6)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Tb(III) ion is coordinated by an N,N'-bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule, and two O,O'-bidentate 2,4-difluoro-benzoate (dfb) anions. One of the latter also bonds to the second Tb(III) centre through one of its O atoms. The third dfb anion bonds to one Tb atom from each of its O atoms. Thus, the three dfb species have three different coordination modes. This results in an irregular TbN(2)O(7) coordination sphere for the metal ion. The F atoms and their associated H atoms in the simple bidentate dfb anion are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.672 (10):0.328 (10) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title heterometallic polymeric coordination compound, {[CuYb(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)(8)]·H(2)O}(n), contains one Cu(II) cation located on an inversion center, a Yb(III) cation, two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate (pda) anions, four coordination water mol-ecules a disordered lattice water molecule, which is half-occupied and is located close to an inversion center. The Cu(II) cation is N,O-chelated by two pda anions in the coordination basal plane and further coordinated by two carboxyl O atoms at the apical positions, with an elongated octa-hedral geometry. The Yb(III) atom is eight-coordinated in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two pda anions, and is N,O-chelated by one pda anion and four coordinated water mol-ecules. The pda anions bridge adjacent Yb and Cu cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The crystal structure features extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonds. ?-? stacking is observed between parallel pyridine rings, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.843?(4)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O}(n), slightly distorted octa-hedrally coordinated Co(II) ions situated on inversion centers are linked into polycationic chains through 4,4'-bipyridine tethering ligands. These are connected into supra-molecular layers by hydrogen bonding involving aqua ligands, perchlorate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. A twofold inter-penetrated primitive cubic supra-molecular network is formed by the inter-action of pseudo-layers by hydrogen bonding between aqua ligands and unligated 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))(2)[Mn(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)(8)](C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)·C(10)H(8)N(2)·15H(2)O, consists of dinuclear Mn(II) complex cations, sulfonato-benzene-dicarboxyl-ate trianions, 4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium cations, uncoordin-ated 4,4'-bipyridine and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. One 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule bridges two Mn atoms, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear complex; the mid-point of the C-C bond linking the pyridine rings of the bridging ligand is located on an inversion center. Each Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water and two 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mn(II) atom deviates by 0.591?(5) and 0.209?(2)?Å from the mean planes of the coordinated pyridine rings. In the 4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium cation, the two pyridine rings are twisted with respect to each other, making dihedral angle of 34.78?(17)°. The uncoordinated bipyridine mol-ecule is also centrosymmetric. One of uncoordinated water mol-ecules has site symmetry 2, and the other uncoordinated water mol-ecule is located close to an inversion center and its one H atom is disordered equally over two sites. Extensive ?-? stacking between pyridine rings is observed and an extensive hydrogen-bonding network of the types N-H?N, O-H?N and O-H?O is present.

Project description:The title compound, {[Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](C(9)H(7)O(3))(2)·2H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the hydro-thermal reaction of manganese chloride with mixed 3-hydroxy-lcinnamic acid (H(2)L) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands. The structure contains [Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](2+) cations with the Mn(II) atoms lying on a centres of inversion and bridged into a linear chain along the a axis by 4,4'-bipy ligands, surrounded by HL(-) anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding and weak ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7572 ?(3)?Å] between the constituents lead to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:Mol-ecules of the title compound, [Zn(8)(C(6)F(5))(8)O(4)(C(4)H(10)O)(4)], are located on a special position of site symmetry [Formula: see text]. As a result, there is just one quarter-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The title compound features a Zn(4)O(4) cube. Each Zn atom in the cube carries a pentafluorophenyl substituent. Each O atom is bonded to a further Zn atom, which is connected to a pentafluorophenyl substituent and the O atom of a diethyl ether mol-ecule. All ether C atoms are disordered over two sets of sites with a site occupation factor of 0.51?(2) for the major occupied site.
