ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecular salt, C(6)H(16)N(+)·NCS(-), the cation possesses approximate local twofold rotation symmetry. One of its NH atoms forms a hydrogen bond to a thio-cyanate N atom and the other to a thio-cyanate S atom. This results in [001] chains of alternating cations and anions.

Dicyclo-hexyl-ammonium thio-cyanate: monoclinic polymorph.

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(24)N(+)·NCS(-), represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported ortho-rhom-bic form [Khawar Rauf et al. (2008 ?). Acta Cryst. E64, o366]. Two independent formula units comprise the asymmetric unit with the major difference in their mol-ecular structures relating to the relative dispositions of the cyclo-hexyl rings [dihedral angles = 79.88?(6) and 67.72?(5)°]. Further, the independent anions form distinctive patterns of hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, i.e. 2 × N-H?N versus N-H?N and N-H?S. The resulting supra-molecular architecture is a supra-molecular chain along the c axis based on a square-wave topology.

Project description:In the title salt, C6H11NH3 (+)·SCN(-), the cyclo-hexyl-ammonium ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation. The ammonium group occupies an equatorial position to minimize 1,3 and 1,5 diaxial inter-actions. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯N and N-H⋯S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, resulting in a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title molecular salt, C(6)H(16)N(+)·CH(3)SO(3) (-), has been determined at 150 K. Two diisopropyl-ammonium cations (dipH) and two anions form N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded cyclic dimers lying around centers of symmetry. Only two of the three O atoms of the methane-sulfonate anion are involved in hydrogen bonding, resulting in slightly longer S-O bond lengths. The title structure represents an example of a sulfonate anion that is part of a hydrogen-bonding R(4) (4)(12) graph-set motif, which is well known for related dipH acetates. Additionally, the Raman and the IR spectroscopic data for the title compound are presented.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(8)H(9)N(2) (+)·SCN(-), the nearly planar 2-methyl-benzimidazolium cation [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0123 (4) Å] is perpendicular to a mirror plane and the methyl H atoms are disordered about the mirror plane with equal occupancies. The thio-cyanate anion also lies on a mirror plane. N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the components into an infinite chain along the b axis.

The oxalate dianion lies across an inversion centre. In the crystal structure, the ions are linked through N-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The cations and anions of the title salt, 3C(6)H(16)N(+)·HSO(4) (-)·SO(4) (2-), are linked by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The hydrogensulfate ion, with a single S-O(H) bond of 1.563 (2) Å, forms a short O-H⋯O hydrogen bond [O⋯O = 2.609 (2) Å] to the sulfate ion. The hydrogensulfate ion accepts two hydrogen bonds from two cations, whereas the sulfate ion, as an acceptor, binds to four cations. The sulfate ion is disordered approximately equally over two sites related by rotation around one of the O-S bonds.
