ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(17)H(15)ClO(3)S, the 3-chloro-phenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 77.76 (6)° with the mean plane [r.m.s. deviation = 0.007 (1) Å] of the benzofuran fragment. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.
