Project description:The title compound, C(23)H(22)O(8), is a binary benzoyl ester whose nucleus consists of a fused system made up of a methyl-enedi-oxy ring and two tetra-hydro-furan rings. One of the benzoyl ester groups is attached at the junction of the two tetra-hydro-furan rings. The other is attached to the outer tetra-furan ring. Both the benzoyl ester groups are in an axial conformation with respect to the outer tetrhydro-furan ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by two weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a chain running parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(19)IO(5), is the ortho-rhom-bic polymorph of a previously reported monoclinic form [Krajewski et al. (1987 ?). Bull. Pol. Acad. Sci. Chem.35, 91-102]. The dihedral angles between the six-membered ring and the two five-membered rings are 67.66?(14) and 71.79?(13)°, whereas the dihedral angle between the five-membered rings is 74.41?(12)°, indicating that all three rings are twisted from each other. The six-membered ring has a twist-boat conformation while both of the five-membered rings have envelope conformations. The crystal structure is stabilized by a network of C-H?O contacts linking the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional array parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:The title compound, C21H29NO7 (1) [systematic name: benzyl ({(3aR,5S,6R,6aR)-5-[(R)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl]-2,2-di-methyl-tetrahydro-furo[2,3-d][1,3]dioxol-6-yl}meth-yl)carbamate], consists of a substituted 2,2-di-methyl-tetra-hydro-furo[2,3-d][1,3]dioxolane skeleton. The furan-ose ring adopts an envelope conformation close to C 3-exo, where the C atom substituted by the benzyl carbamate group is the flap. The fused dioxolane ring also adopts an envelope conformation, as does the terminal dioxolane ring, with in each case an O atom as the flap. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(30)O(9), was prepared by substitution at the C6 position in 1,2;3,4-di-O-isopropyl-idene-6-O-trifluoro-methane-sulfonyl-d-galactose using sodium eth-oxy-malonate in dimethyl-formamide. The conformation is skew-boat (0)S(2), slightly distorted towards boat B(2,5). The inflexible pyran-ose structure makes the title compound a suitable inter-mediate for further synthetic work by keeping stereogenic carbon atoms safe from inversion. Several short intra-molecular C-H? O contacts may stabilize the conformation of the mol-ecule. Inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions also occur.

There are no strong hydrogen bonds in the crystal structure: only weak C-H?O contacts are present, which link the mol-ecules to form a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:Short syntheses to high Fsp 3 index natural-product analogues such as imino-sugars are of paramount importance in the investigation of their biological activities and reducing the use of protecting groups is an advantageous synthetic strategy. An iso-propyl-idene group was employed towards the synthesis of seven-membered ring imino-sugars and the title compound, C9H15N3O5, was crystallized as an inter-mediate, in which the THF ring is twisted and the dioxolane ring adopts an envelope conformation: the dihedral angle between the rings is 67.50 (13)°. In the crystal, the hydroxyl groups participate in O-H⋯(O,O) and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, which generate chains of mol-ecules propagating parallel to the a-axis direction. There is a notable non-classical C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which cross-links the [100] chains into (001) sheets.
