ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(13)H(12)O(2), the dihedral angle between the pyran-one and phenyl rings is 57.55?(9)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the parallel pyran-one rings of neighboring mol-ecules with distances of 3.5778?(11)?Å and 3.3871?(11)?Å between the planes. C-H?O interactions also occur.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(12)O(3), the pyran ring adopts a half-chair conformation with a C atom deviating from the least-squares plane of the remaining ring atoms by 0.606 (2) Å. This plane and that of the benzene ring make a dihedral angle of 44.18 (6)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into infinite chains along the b axis, and these chains are cross-linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonded into sheets lying parallel to the bc plane. The layers are further connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions to form a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

The mol-ecule adopts an E configuration about the central C=N double bond. A weak intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. The dihedral angle between the pyrazole rings is 24.72?(10)° and the dihedral angles between the pyrazole rings and the adjacent phenyl rings are 58.67?(10) and 46.58?(11)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H?? inter-actions involving the pyrazolone and phenyl rings.
