Weak Cu?Cl inter-actions [2.793?(5)?Å] result in the formation of a chain along the a axis.

Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [Cu(C(13)H(16)ClN(2)O(2))Cl], exists in a distorted square-planar coordination environment as the deprotonated Schiff base chelates to the Cu(II) atom through three atom sites. In the crystal structure, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by a Cu⋯Cl [3.011 (1) Å] bridge, generating a linear chain running along the b axis of the ortho-rhom-bic unit cell.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(12)H(9)N(2)O)(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)], contains two independent (2-formyl-phen-olato){2-[(pyridin-2-yl)imino-meth-yl]phenolato}copper(II) mol-ecules that form pseudocentrosymmetric dimers via inter-actions between the Cu and pyridyl N atoms of independent monomers. The square-planar geometry of the Cu atoms in the monomer thus becomes square-based pyramidal in the dimer. The crystal studied was an inversion twin, with unequal populations of 0.353?(17) and 0.647?(17).

Project description:The title Schiff base zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)O)I(CH(3)OH)], was synthesized by the reaction of 5-chloro-salicyl-aldehyde, 2-amino-methyl-pyridine and zinc iodide in methanol. The Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by one phenolate O atom, one imine and one pyridine N atom of the Schiff base ligand, one methanol O atom and one I atom, forming a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with the I atom at the apical site. The dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridine rings is 22.9 (2)°. In the crystal, centrosymmetrically related mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

The dihedral angle formed by the pyridine and benzene rings is 74.61?(5)°. Intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions involving neighbouring pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.853?(2)?Å].

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)O)(H(2)O)]NO(3)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 5-chloro-salicyl-aldehyde, 2-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine and copper nitrate in methanol. The first reported polymorph of this complex was triclinic [Liang et al. (2010 ?). Acta Cryst. E66, m40]. The present polymorph crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c. The Cu(II) ion is in a square planar environment and is coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one pyridine N atom of the tridentate Schiff base ligand and by one water O atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds to form chains along the a axis.

Project description:The title compound, [CoCd(C9H10NO2)3Cl2]·H2O, is a solvatomorph of the corresponding hemihydrate recently published by us [Nesterova et al. (2018 ▸). Appl. Cat. A, 560, 171-184]. The current structure reveals different cell parameters and space group compared with the published one while both are monoclinic with almost the same cell volume. The title compound is formed of discrete neutral dinuclear mol-ecules with no crystallographically imposed symmetry and water mol-ecules of crystallization. The overall geometry about the cobalt(III) ion is octa-hedral with an N3O3 environment; each ligand acts as a meridional ONO donor. The CdII coordination sphere approximates an irregular square pyramid with a chlorine atom at the apex. There is significant shortening of a Cd-O bond length to the oxygen atom of the methoxo group on one of the ligands [2.459 (3) Å] compared to the corresponding distance in the published structure [2.724 (7) Å], while other Cd-Cl/N/O bonds remain roughly the same. In the crystal lattice, the heterometallic mol-ecules, which are related by the crystallographic n-glide plane and inter-linked by weak hydrogen bonds to solvent water mol-ecules, form columns along [101]. Adjacent columns lie anti-parallel to each other.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Cd(3)Cl(6)(C(15)H(15)NO(2))(2)(CH(4)O)(2)](n), is based on a layered zigzag polymeric chain along the c axis. The Cd(II) ions are linked by double chlorine bridges alternating between one CdCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(2) and two CdCl(4)(C(15)H(15)NO(2)) octa-hedral coordination units. Additional intrachain N-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bond interactions stabilize this arrangement.

Project description:In the title dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(14)H(20)ClN(4)O)ClO]·3H(2)O, one Cu(II) cation assumes a distorted square-planar coordination geometry and the other a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. Both Cu(II) cations are N,N',O-chelated by one arm of the 2,6-bis-[(2-amino-eth-yl)imino-meth-yl]-4-chloro-phenolate anion, and one oxide anion bridges the two Cu(II) cations, forming a dinuclear complex. One of the Cu(II) cations is further coordinated by an Cl(-) anion in the apical direction. In the crystal, lattice water mol-ecules are linked with the complex mol-ecule via O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds while O-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs between lattice water mol-ecules , forming three-dimensional network structure.
