Bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-?N(2))bis-(3,3'',5,5''-tetra-methyl-[1,1':3',1''-terphen-yl]-2'-carboxyl-ato-?O)iron(II) dichloro-methane monosolvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Fe(C(23)H(21)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Fe(2+) cation is coordinated by the N atoms of two 3,5-dimethyl-pyrazole ligands and the carboxyl-ate O atoms from two tetra-methyl-terphenyl-carboxyl-ate ligands, forming an FeN(2)O(2) polyhedron with a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. Intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions stabilize the mol-ecular conformation. The dihedral angles formed by the central benzene ring with the outer benzene rings of the terphenyl groups are 47.92?(8), 59.38?(8), 48.24?(8) and 52.37?(8)°. The dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule inter-acts with the complex mol-ecule via a C-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, centrosymmetrically related complex mol-ecules are linked into dimers through pairs of C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C44H30O2, contains two independent mol-ecules in which the terminal rings of the terphenyl element are inclined at angles of 36.3 (1) and 22.5 (1)° with respect to the central ring and the dihedral angles between the fluorenyl units are 72.3 (1) and 62.8 (1)°. In the crystal, pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into inversion dimers. The hy-droxy H atoms not involved in these hydrogen bonds form O-H⋯π inter-actions in which the central terphenyl rings act as acceptors. Weak C-H⋯O contacts and π-π [centroid-centroid distance = 4.088 (2) Å] stacking inter-actions also occur. Taking into account directed non-covalent bonding between the molecules, the crystal is constructed of supramolecular strands extending along the a-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(2)(C(4)H(9))(2)(C(12)H(20))(2)], has two 1-stannacyclo-penta-diene skeletons related by inversion symmetry located at the mid-point of the Sn-Sn bond [2.7682 (2) Å]. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The planarity of the stannacyclo-penta-diene ring is illustrated by the dihedral angle of 0.3 (1)°, defined by the C(4) and C-Sn-C planes. To avoid steric repulsion, the two stannole rings are oriented in an anti fashion through the Sn-Sn bond. These structural features are similar to those of other bis-tannoles.

Project description:The title compound, C(36)H(24)O(6)·CH(2)Cl(2), is a dimer of two essentially planar (r.m.s., deviations of fitted plane of 14 pyracene C atoms = 0.0539 and 0.0543 Å) tetra-cyclic pyracene frameworks (each with four methyl groups and three carbonyl groups on the peripheral carbon atoms) twisted along a central C=C bond with an angle of 50.78 (3)° at 90 K. There are notably long Csp(2)-Csp(2) bonds associated with the carbonyl groups, the longest being 1.601 (3) Å between two carbonyl C atoms. There are also intermolecular carbonyl⋯carbonyl interactions of both parallel and antiparallel types, with C⋯O distances in the range 3.041 (3) to 3.431 (2) Å. This compound is of inter-est with respect to the synthesis of fullerene fragments, such as corannulene and semibuckminsterfullerene derivatives (or 'buckybowls'), and is a side product of the previously reported oxidation reaction. Structural details, such as planarity analysis of fused rings, out-of-plane deviation of substituents, inter-molecular inter-actions, and longer than typical bond lengths, will be discussed as well as comparisons to structurally related compounds.

These inter-actions, as well as ?-? inter-actions between neighbouring 1,10-phenanthroline ligands [shortest atom-to-atom distance = 3.363?(3)?Å], extend the crystal structure into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title compound, C(34)H(22)Cl(4)N(4)O(2)·2CHCl(3), is a new urea based on the 1,1'-binaphthalene skeleton, which crystallizes with two mol-ecules of binaphthalene and four mol-ecules of chloro-form in the unit cell. The chloro-form solvent mol-ecules do not participate in non-covalent inter-actions and therefore, can be found in several positions. The binaphthalene mol-ecules are connected via a system of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the ureido units. C-H⋯O inter-actions also occur. In contrast to unsubstituted urea, where mol-ecules form squares in crystals, the bulky substituents disturb this arrangement and three ureido groups form infinite chains, while the fourth inter-acts with a neighbouring binaphthalene ring via an N-H⋯π inter-action. The solvent molecules are disordered with occupancy ratios of 0.60:0.40, 0.58:0.42, 0.50:0.50 and 0.77:0.23.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(22)N(6) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), was prepared by the reaction of 5,5'-bis-(bromo-meth-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine with 1-methyl-imidazole. The main mol-ecule lies on an inversion center located at the mid-point of the C-C bond joining the two pyridine rings. The asymmetric unit therefore contains one half-mol-ecule and one hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and imidazole rings is 76.93 (7)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.
