Poly[[chloridodimethanol(?(3)-pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ato)europium(III)] methanol monosolvate].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Eu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))Cl(CH(3)OH)(2)]·CH(3)OH}(n), contains one Eu(III) ion, one pyridine 2,3-dicarboxylate dianion (PDC), two CH(3)OH mol-ecules coordinating to the metal atom, one coordinating chloride and one lattice occluded CH(3)OH mol-ecule. In the crystal, each PDC anion coordinates to three adjacent Eu(III) ions by the pyridine N and O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups. The Eu(III) cation is eightfold coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms, one pyridine N atom, two MeOH and one chloride anion in the form of a distorted polyhedron. Extended coordination of the PDC ligand lead to the formation of a two-dimensional coordination polymer parallel to (10-1).

Project description:The title solvated molecular salt, C(4)H(12)N(2) (2+)·C(7)H(3)NO(4) (2-)·CH(3)OH or (pipzH(2))(py-2,3-dc)·MeOH, was prepared by the reaction of pyridine-2,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (py-2,3-dcH(2)) and piperazine (pipz) in methanol (MeOH) as solvent. One of the two carboxylate groups of the acid fragment is nearly perpendicular to the pyridine ring and the other is almost in its plane [C-C-C-O torsion angles = -85.50?(11) and 88.07?(11)° and N-C-C-O torsion angles = -176.31?(8) and 5.41?(13)°]. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(3)NO(4))](n), the Pb(II) ion is eight-coordinated in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by one pyridine N atom and seven carboxyl-ate O atoms from four pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate (pda) anions. In the pda anion, the dihedral angles between the pyridine ring and carboxyl-ate groups are 19.5?(6) and 73.3?(6)°. The carboxyl-ate groups of the pda anions bridge the Pb ions, forming a two-dimensional coordination polymer parallel to (100). Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen boning is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(8)F(4)O(4))(CH(3)OH)]·CH(3)OH}(n), two Cu(II) atoms are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups, forming the well known paddle-wheel secondary building unit (SBU) with axial methanol ligands. In each ligand, the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the two carboxyl-ate groups are 80.43?(17) and 62.5?(4)°. Within each SBU, the four carboxyl-ate groups come from four symmetry-equivalent tetra-fluoro-isophthalate ligands. Each tetra-fluoro-isophthalate group connects two SBUs, forming a layered structure . In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the free and ligated methanol mol-ecules link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Each of the metal cations is coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms from two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, two O atoms from another two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two water O atoms. The Pr(III) ions are bridged by two ligands along the c axis, forming the dimeric unit, and these are connected by four ligands along the b axis, forming a chain. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds are found in the structure.

The hpc ligands bridge adjacent Eu(III) ions, forming infinite double chains. Adjacent chains are further connected by hpc ligands into sheets. O-H?O hydrogen bonds then generate a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Co(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), consists of four crystallographically independent Co cations, four benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc) anions, two water and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. Two of the Co cations and two of the bdc anions are located on centres of inversion, whereas all other atoms are located in general positions. In the crystal, two Co atoms are only fourfold coordinated by three O atoms from three bdc ligands and by one O atom from one coordinated water mol-ecule, while a third Co atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four bdc ligands within a strongly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other two Co cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by six O atoms from six bdc anions. The Co cations are linked by the bdc anions into a three-dimensional framework. From this arrangement, cavities are formed in which additional methanol and water mol-ecules are embedded.

Project description:There are two independent La(III) cations in the polymeric title compound, {[La(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n). One is nine-coordinated in an LaN(2)O(7) tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry formed by three pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules, while the other is ten-coordinated in an LaNO(9) bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by four pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules. The two La(III) cations are separated by a non-bonding distance of 5.026 (3) Å. The pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions bridge the La(III) cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric complex. The crystal structure contains extensive classical O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further consolidated by π-π stacking between pyridine rings, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.700 (5) Å.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(4)H(12)N(2))[Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n) or {(pipzH(2))[Bi(2)(pydc)(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), where pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and pipz is piperazine, was obtained by reaction of Bi(NO(3))(3)·5H(2)O with (pipzH(2))(pydc-H)(2)·3H(2)O in a 1:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. There are two independent Bi(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is eight-coordinate with a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, and another which is nine-coordinate with a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the (pydc)(2-) ligands link dinuclear [Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)](2-) units into one-dimensional coordin-ation polymers. The pipzH(2) (2+) cations (site symmetry ) and non-coordinated water mol-ecules lie between these polymers, forming N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the O atoms of the carboxylate groups.

There are two symmetry-independent Mn(II) centres with different coordination environments: one Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four ligands and two N atoms from two ligands, the other Mn(II) atom is coordinated by three O atoms from two ligands, two water O atoms and the O atom of an ethanol mol-ecule. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. π-π stacking is present in the crystal structure, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.509 (4) Å.
