ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecule, C(12)H(10)N(2)O(2), the benzene and pyridine rings form a dihedral angle of 5.01?(8)°. The amide group is twisted by 33.54?(7)° from the plane of the pyridine ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers via pairs of O-H?N hydrogen bonds. N-H?O hydrogen bonds further link dimers related into chains along the b axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(11)NO(3), crystallizes in a zwitterionic form and has a trans configuration about the C=N bond. The mol-ecule is almost planar, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings being 4.32?(8)°.
